Hey,
so I was purchasing a virtual item from someone through a friends and family transaction. I payed the money and I never got the virtual item. He told me he received the money but never gave me the item. He doesn't respond to my messages so that's when I realized I was scammed. Help!
Thanks!

yes,you are scammed, sending money via friend and family is like giving someone cash gift, you may as well throw the money out of the window.
if you have used your credit card, file chargeback

You accepted to go against PayPal policies to send money as friends/family/gift when you knew it was for a purchase. There is no buyer protection, since it was not made for a purchase.
It was all your decision and risk. Nothing now to do with PayPal.
In future, best to read and understand PayPal polciies for protection before any more transactions.
If you funded by credit card you might have a chance there.

The person said that because THEY are pretty sure you can't get the money back so you weren't scammed, so to speak. You willingly sent the money. Pretty brazen.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
