Purchased a $5000 Panerai watch through eBay. Item was marked new and authentic. Upon arrival I discovered it was fake. Contacted the seller right away and sent him photo of proof. The seller is claiming that I have altered damaged and opened the watch, so he is not going to honor the return and refund. The watch was never altered opened or damaged by me. It arrived in exact same condition as the photo has shown. I opened disputes with Ebay and Paypal. Ebay is saying that once Paypal is involved, eBay cannot do anything. Not sure what Paypal is capable of doing. Clearly the seller is taking advantage of the policy and trying to get away with a fake item. This is my first bad experience and can some community members help to guide me through this painful process. Thanks in advance.
