Can't get refund from Paypal

Hi

Would anyone be able to tell me how I go about getting my refund from Paypal please?

I purchased some items in July from an international seller on ebay, which didn't turn up.

The seller finally said they would give me a full refund, yet to this day I'm still waiting.

I tried going through ebay but the seller is no longer registered with them. So ebay basically tell me to contact the seller...and paypal.

The payment is still showing on my paypal account as 'Pending'.

I've tried going through all the stuff paypal told me to do, with still no luck!

Does anyone know how I can finally get my refund please?

This's all been a seriously frustrating and infuriating experience!

find the transaction and click resolution,then file a case of item not received.

You have upto 180 days to do so from date of purchase.

if seller does not respond,after so many days,you can ask Paypal to look into it,Paypal will eventually close the case and refund  your money.

payment pending could be the seller cannot or have not accept your payment.

(pay attention to when you can get case escalate to get Paypal to review your case,dont miss the deadline)

Did  you pay with credit card,if so,file chargeback with them

if seller is no longer registered on Ebay,Ebay kicked him out.

You should be able to file item not received on Ebay,I dont understand why Ebay past the buck to Paypal.

anyway,filing chargeback will be your next move if you get nowhere with either one.

Did Ebay say you waited too long?

Did you call Ebay,they may be able to do it for you while you wait

Hmm, if the transaction is still marked as "Pending", could be that PayPal is still trying to claw that money back prolly and has not been successful coz the seller took off with the moolah.

if payment is pending in the sender account,that means it has not sent the payment yet.

It could be Ebay suspended the seller or his Paypal account has been restricted,no money goes out and no money comes in.

there are different kinds of restriction,one way or both way.

the transaction is from July,he may have to go to his cc issuer and get it resolved.

If that was true, seller didn't need to tell the buyer that they would refund if payment didn't go through or complete at one point.  So it is possible that payment went through and since the seller is MIA running off with moolah but put in a refund request with PayPal.  eBay booted the seller.  PayPal didn't boot them since they need to keep the account open to claw back money hence the Pending status.

If Pending payment was not accepted, then payment usually bounce back after 30 days automatically.

But OP can indeed open a PayPal dispute or file a chargeback on the transaction of course.
