Can I combine Paypal Credit Master Card and Paypal Balance for a purchase on ebay?

Probably a silly question but I'd like to know if I can use my paypal balance first while purchasing an item on ebay and then use my linked Paypal MasterCard for the remainder of the purchase. Obviously I wouldn't have enough $$ with just my Paypal Balance alone and would like to supplement with my linked Credit Card.

Thanks in advance!

That's, actually a really good question. You can try following the steps at https://www.paypal.com/us/selfhelp/article/how-do-i-add-a-debit-or-credit-card-to-my-account-faq826 as if the PrePaid card is another debit/credit card. Just make sure to have the first payment, when checking out, as your PayPal Balance and the second/backup payment method as the PrePaid card. Another option is to take your PayPal funds, all or a portion of it, and transfer it to your PrePaid card. If you're not able to do any of this, you should contact PayPal by phone at https://www.paypal.com/selfhelp/contact/call or by email at https://www.paypal.com/selfhelp/contact/email.

I see what you are saying as far as changing my first payment method to paypal funds. The credit card I have is the Paypal MasterCard Rewards Cash Back card though...not a prepaid card. Does that matter?

Thanks!

It does, actually. When you use your Cashback/Extras MasterCard, there's only one difference between the PayPal Cashback Mastercard and the PayPal Extras Mastercard, is that the funds are take from your PayPal balance or your linked credit/debit card or bank account. Neither of the the PayPal Cashback Mastercard and the PayPal Extras Mastercard have their own balances - only the the PayPal Prepaid Mastercard does. Meaning, you won't be able to link the PayPal Cashback Mastercard and the PayPal Extras Mastercard to your account. The same goes for the PayPal Cash Mastercard.

To summarize, the only PayPal card you can use as a secondary payment method is the PayPal Prepaid Mastercard. Of course, to the other's who are following this thread, you can use another banks debit/credit cards or your banks checking/savings account information to link to your PayPal account.

So again just to summarize...I have three payment methods I can make using paypal. 1. I have paypal funds 2. I have a Paypal MasterCard CashBack credit card linked to paypal and 3. I have my bank account linked to paypal. When making a purchase on ebay you are saying that I am or am not able to use the total of my paypal funds plus supplement what is left using my linked CashBack Mastercard? Thanks

The card is already linked...im just wondering if that is allowed. Thanks.

Oh.

I am so sorry. I thought that we were talking about debit cards not credit cards. Since it's obvious that I don't know, try to contact PayPal. You can do that by going to the community chat at https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Community-Events/bd-p/US-Events and look for "PayPal Community Chat 2/21" or one that is similar. It'll be open this Wednesday between 1-2 PM PT (4-5 PM ET). Don't forget that you can contact PayPal's customer service by phone or email as well. Let me know what the answer is!
