help with what transaction

Hi I just made a purchase on ebay using my PayPal account,I need to send the seller the extra payment for postage,as the listing was for the item price only,PayPal emailed me a confirmation of my order but when I log in to my paypal account there is no trace of transaction in my account,I don't know if i have been scammed and had a fake email sent or is this to do with PayPal,any help most grateful. Thank you

Real PayPal emails will address you by your full name that you registered for an account with.

Proceed with care. I would not send the extra money for shipping just yet.  The shipping should have been charged along with the item price.  Investigate the listing.  Did the seller made a mistake in the listing that shipping is not charged?  Was there shipping costs posted on the listing? Check back a few hours later to see if the PayPal transaction shows up.  You should also post in the eBay Community boards for advice.

Hi Thank you for replying,just checked my PayPal account again and the transaction is now showing,I think that the eBay seller is fairly new as they only have a feedback score of 37,they do have other listings up and they are all collect in person,do you think it will be safe to send the extra payment now. Thanks again

No, do not send the extra payment.  You pay only what was listed for the sale.

If the seller is unhappy, ask for a full refund to cancel the sale.
