No and No... The service is expensive and my experience with paypal now is that all of my sales funds are being on hold for no reasons for 21 days. This is absurd and rediculous that I can't do any buying on ebay due my funds aren't available on Paypal.
If paypal doesn't look into revise this policy of conduct business, paypal will lose a lot their business finacially unless they change to runtheir business the way they practice this new hold problem. it wasn't use to be this way.....
I am not a happy paypal customer.
Jimmie.

Jimmie,
There is little to no involvement from PP staff here so your post will probably only reach other members. The 21 day system does suck but the reality is if PP loses you as a customer it will hardly hurt their bottom line so they are not worried about.
On a side note there are SO many options for paying people these days the option of PP is rarely brought up outside of eBay. If you are having issues with this service there are many other money transmitters who would love your business.
Just my 2 cents
P.S.
Haven't recommended PP since 2006 when they limited my account without reason and it took calling everyone on the executive switchboard (they made a mistake choosing a voip specialist to do this to ) to get my account turned back on. Seeing this company from both sides of the table makes me rarely use the service. I will still pay via PP on eBay but that is about it.

Shoo, these other payment processors will end up using the same policies and protections as PayPal does. Starting to see that already if you google some of these other payment processors. Let's face it, as the internet matures, more laws will be written to govern it. Loopholes are closing up. Can't do the stuff you used to could do on the net.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Depends on my friends.
If they are just plain bread and butter folks, pay their bills online or with a check, buy grocery with their credit or debit card or cash, eat out once in a while, there is really no need to have a PAYPAL account, unless they are Ebayholics

One disadvantge of using Paypal is that you dont get a monthly statement in the mail like you would with your credit card statement.
if you buy something from Macy, you see MACY on your statement, you dont see PAYPAL *SELLFORLESS .(A NOBODY EBAY SELLER)

I have no problems with PayPal and would definitely recommend to a friend to use as a PAYMENT PROCESSOR. It has some advantages over Square as a payment processor; Square also has some advantages.
To use PayPal as a banking system or a place to maintain funds for in-store purchases. I would never recommend such use. Banks and checking accounts are great for payment bills; PayPal is not. Credit cards a great for purchases; PayPal is not. So, I would not recommend PayPal as aan alternative to banking and credit cards PayPal is much more complex than a simple credit card or bank account.
