Need help getting a refund.

So, I am very frustrated right now. I purchased two accounts for a game from a seller. I sent the money then he started ignoring me. Now it is saying I can't get a refund because I sent it to "Friends", the seller told me to send it like this so I wouldn't get a fee. I paid $12 and have found no help. Can someone please help me?

Sorry, you're on your own.

There are no goods/services included in sending money as friends/family; that method is essentially gift money.

Furthermore, it is a violation of PayPal policies to use friends/family method to avoid fees for purchases.

A seller has no control over how you send funds; that is your choice as the one paying.

Furthermore, if you had send funds for a purchase and the seller failed to provide the goods, you would get a forced refund as the seller would not have been able to prove delivery.,

There are a lot of scammers asking for payment as friends/family as they know there is no buyer protection.
