Known Issue: Payments not appearing on sender or receiver's account

Update: Engineers are reporting the issue with transaction delays was fixed late last night (around 2am ET). Typically a transaction may take a few minutes to appear in the account activity and we are back to that normal behavior. Thanks for your patience during this issue.
Hi everyone,
Our engineers are aware of an issue right now where payments are not immediately appearing in the account activity for both senders and recipients. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and our engineers are working to fix this as soon as possible.
This issue appears to be causing a delay in when the payments appear. The transaction is initiated, it's just not appearing on the website for up to 4-5 hours in some cases (the time appears to be random).
I will update this post when we have more information and to let everyone know when the fix has been implemented.

Also not received a payment frombuyer made two hours ago. The buyer insists payment has left their account but it does not appear in my paypal activity. Now my question is, why did the order before and after go through paypal? Why this one payment? It's not like all are missing out of paypal.

I don't understand why you are all posting with "same here" messages when if you read the very FIRST post you have been informed its an ongoing paypal techie glitch that paypal are working on.
Advice is voluntary.

Maybe its because it still hasn't been resolved.
A significant portion of PayPal customers have temporarily(?) had their money simply "disappear." People who have bought stuff don't know what's going on - people who have sold stuff haven't received the funds. Buyers and sellers now have their monies in an third-party black hole known for occasional confiscation. Some for more than 24 hours now...
If PayPal actually wanted to destroy customer confidence this would be the best way to go about it. And for some they have succeeded.
A "we are working on it response" naturally causes people to post "it isn't fixed yet." And here we are about a day later still saying "yep it's still happening to me too."

An issue of this stature should have Paypal add it to their notifications/alerts/outages page. Also I appreciate that you posted this issue but there needs to be updates HOURLY even if the update is "still working on it".

Don't get me started... I called these fools this morning just to walk through this and make sure it was an issue on their end and I wouldn't get triple charged wiping out my bank account and charging me overages. They assured me it wasn't going to process the first two due to a website issue.
GUESS WHO'S BEEN SITTING ON THE **bleep** PHONE FOR TWO HOURS ON HOLD WAITING FOR A REP AFTER HAVING THEIR BANK ACCOUNT WIPED OUT AND NOTIFICATIONS POPPING UP GOING "PAYMENT SENT!" THREE F@#$@#%@$#ING TIMES NOW?

I am livid as I specifically spent over an hour of my time earlier to call and MAKE **bleep** SURE this wouldn't happen again. THANKS AGAIN.
As I hung up this morning - "Thanks again for being a valued customer for 8 years now!"
Yeah... See how long that lasts after I waste more time getting my own money back damnit.

I think you guys really need to post something about this on our account pages before we try to send any money until you get the issue fixed. It'll help prevent anyone from sending money multiple times or confusion about the status of their payments.

I have the same problem today. Very disturbing. I called them and they make me wait for an hour but noone answers my phone. What a bad service! I sent them two emails asking why this is hapenning and they replied with some automatic messages that makes no sense at all.
Hope there is a way to notify other users: Dont' use Paypal until this problem is solved!
