¡Felicidades! ¡Gracias! ... Welcome to the PayPal Community!   The PayPal Community is in the process of revamping how we recognize users through ranks, badges and other programs.  This is a multi-phase process that will begin with the launch of new badges.  We will continue to update this post with more information as new changes are implemented over the coming months.   Badge Example (can you figure out how to earn this one? 🙂 )   What are badges? Badges are awarded to users to recognize their participation in the community and to show which users have achieved important milestones during their community journey.  Badges will appear on community profile pages and eventually on the profile hover card when you hover over their name in community discussions.         How do I view profile and badge pages? To view the profile page of a community member, click on their username.  You can also hover over their name while in a community discussion to see their profile card.  Once on their profile page, you will be able to view some of the badges they have achieved or click the right chevron arrow to see their full badge page.     How do I view my own profile and badge page? If you are logged into the community, click on your profile icon in the upper right corner of the page.  Then click "My profile". You can also click the right chevron arrow next to your badges to see the full badges page.  If you are viewing your own badge page you will be able to see which badges you have earned as well as some of the other badges that can be earned.     How do I earn badges? Badges can be earned in a variety of ways.  The more you use community features, participate and successfully help other members, the more likely you are to earn badges.  Most badges are awarded based on specific things you do in the community like receiving kudos, accepted solutions or posting replies.  Other badges may be occasionally awarded by community staff for being a valued community member or participating in specific community events.  We won't say exactly what is needed to earn specific badges but take a look at your badge page and see if you can figure it out. 🙂  Happy badge hunting!         What if I've already earned all the badges already? Congrats! 😄 You've been more active than most users in the community and we value your ongoing participation.  The badges we are launching are part of the first phase of changes so more badges will be added in the future along with changes to user ranks.       ... Hi PayPal Community!   Starting this week we have released new features to help you manage your personal information in the community.  The entire PayPal team is committed to the privacy and security of our customers.  We are happy to provide additional controls to our community users to help them understand what data is stored about them in the community.   As a reminder, we do not permit the posting of personal information in community posts.  Please see our Community Rules & Guidelines for more information.  If you see a community post containing personal information, please report that to the moderator team using the "Report Inappropriate Content" option located in the little three dots menu on each post.   Personal Information The option to view the personal information stored about you in the community is now available.   Click here to view this in your Community preferences  This page enables all community users to see all the personal information stored about them in the community.  A text file containing all the information can also be downloaded. From the same page, each user can also download a copy of all their community posts.   Close Community Account If you wish to ensure that all of your personal information has been deleted from the Community, there is now a Close Community Account option.   Please note this option is permanent and once your community account is closed, you would not be able to reopen it.   Click here to view the Close Account page     Community Users with Closed PayPal Accounts PayPal Community accounts are separate from standard PayPal accounts. But an open PayPal account is required to login to the community.   As the community can only be accessed by people with an open PayPal account, there may be situations where you have closed your PayPal account but would still like to use one of the new features mentioned above.   In these situations, please contact PayPal Customer Support for assistance.  Please provide them with the email address on file in the closed PayPal account that is linked to your community account for reference as well as your username in the Community.     Reminders regarding community email notifications All community users can manage the email notifications they would like to receive from their Community Notification preferences.   Additionally, any system generated emails sent by the community will also contain a link to update your email notifications or unsubscribe from all email notifications.  It is not required to log in to unsubscribe from all email notifications.   Common community email notifications include: Notifications of new posts on topics, labels or boards you have subscribed to.  Manage your subscriptions here Notifications when someone in the community @mentions you in a post. Notifications when you receive a new role or badge in the community.   Thanks for your participation in the PayPal Community! 😄   Thanks, Frank ... View more

Thanks for the feedback @kernowlass @Brandon-P. 🙂 The main goal here is to simplify the structure while promoting the Community Forum as an option for more customers globally.   Right now we're focusing on making sure we have one place for customers to interact with each other where they are using the same product that's offered globally.  For example the basic functionality of sending someone money is not significantly different between countries.   We believe there are more things in common with our products between countries than there are differences.  But we'll still have the option to create dedicated areas of the new English community for specific countries in the future if we identify a need for that based on post volumes. 😄   Encouraging community users to share their country and account types is definitely part of this new strategy and we'll be asking advisors and contributors to help support this by encouraging other members to share if they have not done so.  We're also looking into making the country more visible when users have chosen to share that information.  That should help with being able to quickly identify topics you may want to assist with.   For advisors that already move between the various communities today, they will no longer need to do this and can stay in one community.  We're also adding labels so that advisors can quickly identify topics they may be most interested in helping.  For example: managing fraud or avoiding scams.   Always happy to hear your thoughts on this as this is a big change and we'll work through any pain points.  Our hope is that you'll also feel that helping users in other countries is very rewarding too. 🙂   Thanks, Frank   ...
