Having trouble adding a bank account

Hi,

I have an Argentinian PayPal account and am trying to add a US based Bank of America bank account.

When adding the account I am getting the error "You cannot add a bank at this time." . I contacted support by mail and they tell me that I am adding a Payoneer account and that cannot be done. But what I am adding is a Bank of America bank account. It seems to be a problem with PayPal account validation system, but I cannot get help from the mail support and still can't withdraw my money 😞

Please help, I can send you any information you need regarding my BofA bank account.

Thanks for reaching out to us here. Payoneer is a type of virtual bank account that is managed by Bank of America. While this is considered to be a US bank account, it is regrettably not compatible with PayPal and you would not be able to add it to your PayPal account. We would recommend adding a traditional bank account instead.

As I said before, I am adding a US Bank of America bank account opened personally on US soil. I had contacted support by mail and got the same answer 5 times before Laureen (PayPal amazing PayPal Customer Support)  actually read the issue and did something that allowed me to succesfully add my correctly supported bank account and could withdraw my money.

Please for future occasions try to take some time to read the problem description, the only person who did this solve my problem (it was a PayPal bug) and I could have saved a lot of time.

I had the same problem--I could not convince the customer service representative that I had a normal BOA account, not a Payoneer account. After reading your post, I called back and another representative had no trouble setting up the account. Thank you!

For anyone reading this, if you are having the same problem (adding a US Bank of America bank account) contact PayPal by phone and they can solve this issue (it is a known issue although they won't recognize it). For me, a PayPal representative did some modification that would last 4 hours and I tried and worked out.
