Why is an EIN no longer acceptable?

I have never been a US citizen but own an American LLC and thus have an EIN number which has been acceptable for some 14 years.  I would like to ask why this is no longer acceptable by PayPal USA.

Canadian with Canadian Paypal account can link both US and Canadian bank accounts,if someone pays you with US dollars,you cangoto your profile and state you will accept US dollars and would keep them as US dollars,then your account will carry 2 balances,one is US $ AND One in Canadian $.

THEN you can use your US $ to pay your US $ bills without asking Paypal to convert.

Didn't know that so thanks for that information.

When I opened the PayPal account I was not living in Canada and had intended to live in the USA but things changed.  As I said above I am now retired so will likely be closing the business shortly.  I had actually hoped that I could have got the current card activated as that would have seen out the business.

rules may have changed due to tighter rules against Money laundering and anti-terrorism acts ,not just in USA,but Canada,and Euro countries.

But that doesn't tell me what has changed at PayPal when an EIN number has been fine for some 14 years.
