Sending Money

I am trying to send money and have just the PayPal Link and name of the receipient.  Trying to complete under purchase goods or send to friends it seems I must have either an email address or 10 digit mobile number.  Am I missing something?

PayPal.Me links are a fast and convenient way to send a payment. There are many ways one can share their PayPal.Me link such as in an email, a text message, on a chat, or even on your business card. Clicking on the link should take you to the merchant's checkout page. If you have the PayPal.Me link written down, you can type it into a web browser to go to their checkout page to send a payment. 

At this time, PayPal.Me links are not compatible with the send money function when logged into a PayPal account. Only the name of someone on your PayPal contact list, a confirmed email and confirmed mobile phone number will work on the send money page.
