I recently paid for a 16-week Fitness Plan from an online coach. I do not believe that I paid for what was expected, and I am less than halfway through: 5 weeks out of the 16. I tried resolving this with her that I requested a refund because she was not , however she blew up and pretty much said she won't give me a refund and paypal will deny it. She said "because the transaction involves the delivery of intangible goods, you quite off your own volition and I made an effort to resolve but you refused, paypal will not honor a refund". It was a service that I am paid for, not goods. What does Paypal define as a "service"? I even asked for a partial refund and she refused. I think I deserve a refund, even if it's partial, however I don't know if it's worth the effort to dispute this after reading other people's complaints with paypal and not actually getting a refund.

There is minimal effort required in filing a dispute so why not at least try if it means possible getting your money back?
It was not intangible goods it was a service so personally i would open a dispute > put in everything that has happened > escalate to a dispute and then leave it for paypal to decide.
Or you can believe the rumour mongers who always state bad things about paypal and don't bother and don't get your funds back........your call but personally i think its worth a shot.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

If you paid as family/friends/gift then that was your mistake. There are no goods associated with friends/family/gift payments which means no disputes possible.
