Hi, I'm selling an item for $1700 on Craigslist, and found a potential buyer. Buyer lives in San Jose, California, and was willing to pay $1900 for the product and get the item shipped to her. The buyer told me to request the money on PayPal, so she can pay immediately. Is this a scam?

Not obviously a scam, but details matter.
Where are you located? How was it advertised for delivery and shipping costs?
What is the product?
Will it cost $200 to ship?
Does the item fit PayPal policies for seller protection?
How well do you know the buyer?
Is the buyer's address valid?

Hi @Rachel06,
That's a great question!
Not all Craigslist buyers are trying to scam sellers but I'm glad to see you are being cautious! Here is a link with some details of things to watch for when selling items on Craigslist or other classified websites.
I hope this helps!
Thanks,
Tricia
