PayPal doesn't have an option for trades.  You either buy or you sell.  You can also give money, as a gift.

Best to review PayPal buyer and seller protection policies before you do anything with finances.  PayPal will to protect you for poor judgement transactions.

If you receive money for goods, you need to ship the goods to the buyer with postal service tracking.

Again, read and understand PayPal policies for buyer and seller protection.  There is NO SELLER PROTECTION for virtual goods.  You will lose your money on a buyer challenge.

wow so as the seller you can get scammed, why do sellers sell via goods and services if the sellers can get scammed? i thought this could only happen in friends and family since you have to trust that the other person will send the goods or money.

You don't get scammed by sending money as goods and services as long as you provide the goods.  Virtual items are not "goods"; PayPal makes that very clear.

There are NO goods associated with family/friends/gift money transfers.

He can file a dispute that he did not receive the item and you will have not tracking to prove delivery.

You really should read and study PayPal polices for buyer and seller protection.

There is NO PROTECTION FOR VIRTUAL GOODS.  Is in the polcies.  That's all that's needed--IN THE POLICIES.
