Hello.
Looking for a bit of guidance here. I sell digital e-comm based sevices through several different websites.
I have a Biz Checking Acct and One Primary Paypal Standard Biz account.
Challenge is the two businesses have different names. One is the registered legal name, and one is the DBA - so the other is not related in the name itself, but just in ownership.
Example:
Digital Services LLC DBA Big House Digital Training
My goal is to have my two primary website sources have their own Paypal API/Payment connections since the names of the compnanies are different - as to not confuse the customer, but i would prefer to avoid having to have 2 different checking accounts, etc to deal with and file taxes on.
I saw on this thread HERE Merch Services can make one account a child of the other.
If I do this, would i need 2 different checking accounts?
Would i run into issues verifying business name of account 2 with PayPal, and could I confirm the same checking account in both user accounts in pay pal?
Any clarity here would be appreciated!
Thx.

The way I understand it, you choose one parent account and a child account. The child account sweeps its payments to the parent account so I take it one bank account will be enough. Call merch services to confirm though.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I litterally just got off the phone an hour ago setting up the exact same thing.
No, you will not need two checking accounts. You will need two paypal accounts with seperate emails though (not two emails added to the same account).
You have to call merchent services. Regular paypal support won't understand what you are talking about.
Call 1 866 784 3783 and Press 2 on the menu
Explain what you are trying to do with setting up a child / parent account.
The agent I spoke with was very helpful and used my second email to set up a new business account.
I am still wanting for the two accounts to be linked together. Apparently this is something that can't be done by the agent, they have to send it to a technical department.
My understanding was that I do not need a checking account on the child account. I transfer funds from the child account to the parent account and then I can deposit funds in my bank using the parent account.
