Paypal authorization may take a month to clear. Never pay with Paypal for services if you have an alternative payment method. I once paid with Paypal for UPS shipping and the system failed and then it took me a very long time to clear the authorization by Paypal. ... View more

Contact the merchant, the store. There must be a phone number somewhere in the Contact Us or About Us page, sometimes not well visible or you may have to click a link in the text. Also there must be an online Contact US form to send them a message (email). Please note that authorizing a card or Paypal payment and then declining it constitutes fraud same as if a check is written and then cancelled later on, so be careful with that one. The merchant store may begin collection procedures or report it to your credit history if you end up owing them some money. This is in case if your order has been processed or shipped. There may be some order cancellation fees involved that may need to be paid. Unless the system failure of the store or of Paypal. Yet if your order was not yet placed, then your card or Paypal payment should have not been authorized in the first place. ... View more

When I became convinced to register a Business Account at Paypal, they destroyed two large orders of mine by failingt the payment transaction completely. Paypal was unable to help me and suggested to not use Business Account! So I stoipped using it. Then when the following ERROR or GLITCH occurred (screenshot attached) I was advised it is a FAILED transaction, but weeks later I have noticed the transaction was still AUTHORIZED and was not failed at all! Paypal disappointed me again. That customer's order was delayed by weeks by a fake glitch at Paypal. Today Paypal messed up my significant order again! The transaction was authorized and it was just fine until something or someone at Paypal did something and causedf the already apporved and authorized transaction to become DENIED! Customer becamse upset and angry and demanded money back and the revenue was destroyed again, by Paypal's own fault! Save yourselves a frustration and STOP using this clueless, incompetent, failing Paypal service.   ... View more

Paypal does NOT have a LIVE RUNNING BALANCE on every line of every transaction. Please pay attention to the every word in this sentence. Paypal does NOT have that. Please do not claim that you (Paypal) have LIVE RUNNING BALANCE on every line of every transaction, cause you don't. When you do, you post a notification here. Until then, you don't have that kind of feature. It should be right there, without running anything. Open a Paypal account and just like in a bank account the LIVE RUNNING BALANCE on every line of every transaction should be right there. ... View more

Having a LIVE RUNNING BALANCE on every line of every transaction current and past, viewable instantly, is ESSENTIAL to everyone and that's what Paypal lacks. If Paypal wants to gain more customers they should implement this feature. ... View more

After creating a Paypal Business Account in addition to my personal account I was suggested I will be able to accept all these addition al European payment methods. After diverting my shopping cart from my personal account and into the business account within just 2 weeks I had two sizable orders destroyed by Paypal failing to engage during customer'«s checkout process. The module just said "Paypal Checkout was unavailable". My technician said it was not the fault of my shop, but Paypal was simply unavailable to take my customers orders. I now disabled my Paypal Business Checkout and reverted to Personal account's checkout and did not look back. It was like your best friend failing to help you by being unavailable when you needed them most. Paypal support also were unable to help just by stating that my Paypal business account works and they have no idea why the checkout failed for two customers placing sizable orders. Not wanting to risk anymore loss of income I stop using Paypal Business Account checkout. ... View more

Error: Payment gateway is unavailable

Just had signed up with Paypal Business Account a week ago and a shop support technician updated my shop from Personal to Business account's Paypal Checkout software and tested it and it worked. One customer order was placed successfully. The next customer was unable to place their order three times in a row, three attempts within 5 minutes time, because the store's payment gateway log shows: Reason: Error: (Paypal) Payment gateway is unavailable. This is loss of revenue because Paypal is not working properly. What could be wrong? Did Paypal forget to pay their hosting bill? UPDATE: I have just received a response from Paypal tech support after they inspected our store, regarding your orders failing payment processing, which I post below:   "Your PayPal Checkout is up and running, so other customers can continue to use the checkout and it is functioning properly. PayPal is committed to providing our users with a secure and easy way to send and receive payments. As part of our security measures, we regularly screen information and payments transacting through our system. We sometimes have to review payments just to make sure that our platform is being used properly. This specific payment was not able to be processed by PayPal. If you to accept payment from this customer, you may want to take this specific transaction outside of PayPal. I apologize for any inconvenience that may be causing." Yet customer just wrote: "PayPal said your website breached their regulations". Strange... but yes, I will make sure I accept OTHER forms of payment for as much as possible. ... View more

Re: Paypal does not allow me to make a full refund...

OK, I understand, but when I communicated with Paypal they wrote that in order to issue a full refund to the UNVERIFIED customer I must wait at least until January 2024 since Paypal wants to keep the money for a while. Perhaps they want to earn some interest on the money, but what will happen when the buyer submits a chargeback. That will be Paypal's fault. Additionally, Paypal should not charge any fees for payments from unverified buyers and if they do, they should promptly refund them once a seller asks to issue a full refund, since there is a risk of chargeback. So does that make sense to you that in order to issue a full refund Paypal is asking me to allow them issue a full refund only in January 2024? ... View more

Paypal does not allow me to make a full refund to ...

Created a Paypal Business Account upon being asked to by the developer who assured me it's a good thing, that allows me to accept all kinds of European payment methods. After my cart was upgraded to Business Paypal account functionality I received an order. After reviewing the order I have noticed that the buyer was Unverified and they were asking to ship it by FedEx and that created a red flag. I decided to issue a Full Refund to the customer to be on the safe side. I went to the admin area of Paypal Business Account and clicked on the MAKE REFUND button and... it said that I do not have enough balance in my account to make the refund! My balance was that one single and the very first order amount! How in the world is this behaviour by Paypal is legal? This is the buyer's money, not Paypal's! If a seller decided to issue a full refund Paypal must be happy to refund the money and not try to keep it! ... View more
