Welcome to the club. It's the way PayPal operates. Have you tried calling them? The 180 days limit usually means you're banned permanently and they will hold onto it for that long. What you need to do is try calling them to see if there was a mistake. If they tell you you've been banned then the best thing to do is refund that money and try obtaining it by different means. Ask whoever sent you it to pay you a different way, or else you'll have to wait 6 months.

I'm gonna keep a folder of all customer complaints on paper and the dates to present to the courts. In my case, it's not about the money but the principle. I think this madness needs to stop at some point. In addition, PayPal will not talk to me and continues to ignore my emails. We're willing to spend good $ if we can win a bigger settlement, but I want to know if anyone here has experience with suing them? I have a few legal experts in the state of NY that will help me and the victims but you need to be willing to join our class action lawsuit.

How much money was it? Go to your small claims court in your state. If you funded the account by bank then file a dispute and show proof that you've sent this money and PayPal refused to fund the account. The courts will contact PayPal and they will have to release your money if you sumbit your paper work.

@kernowlass Even if he/she broke the rules it's still a minor and legally you're not supposed to withold money from someone underage. Might as well consult a lawyer. If the user lied about their age that's bad, but still sent in their ID. They are under no obligation since they cannot legally sign contracts. Only thing PP can do is ban them, but they have to release that money.

I'm afraid you're out of luck. Not saying this to be mean, and hell, I'd never side with paypal, ever! The thing is even if you didn't violate any tos they can still arbitrary shut your acct down. They do it all the time. I'm wondering if they're going broke and need our money. Although the eBay split will officially end 5 years from now they're gonna lose a lot of business by then. Too many people are getting shut down. So, they're going to need the interest their earning on our money to cover all their lawsuits and hope to survive the next 5-10 years.

Well, its official paypal just doesn't want to talk to me. I've been hung up on ignored by email and social media. I don't want trouble just my money back they robbed from me. Jezuz Chr*st this is pure madness.

Thanks. I probably won't be helped much either even by phone but it's worth a try, they're probably just gonna refer me back here or say get lost. Very rarely do you get someone who can do anything since their phones are outsourced. Yes, it's a waste of time contacting them but they have my money. I really don't like PayPal whatsoever it's annoying to use but eBay forces it. Once Adyen is available hopefully this madness will stop. If I had the choice to use PP in the future I wouldn't, even if it meant losing sales.

I wouldn't be surprised if they blocked my emails and phone number next. I sent a dozen emails. And their Twitter isn't much helpful either, I want to talk to someone of authority who can release my frozen money. Who can I contact? I didn't violate any TOS and PayPal even admits it, no explanation but I'm being banned for life and my money is stuck for 180 days. A small amount which all been shipped and received over 30 days ago. Why does PayPal want this little spare change? If they allow 180 chargeback outside of visa they are the ones who are fraudsters and encouraging fraud. Of course, no chargebacks were filed in the last 30 days.
