Well, it's because there was more money from that customer than the item was worth as several items were sent at once. I have found PayPal increasingly disappointing over the last year or so, both as a buyer and a seller and, obviously, customers that open disputes instead of talking to you first are not going to return overpaid money and this is the case with this particular person. I have always refunded my customers anyway without PayPal having to intervene but never before (in 7 years) have I ended up paying twice, even when there is a "glitch".
