UPDATE: The problem has been solved by calling paypal. They apologized and sent me a small compensation for the trouble. Basically you need to call paypal and tell them that you no longer want paypal to convert the money but your local bank. The changes will be made instantly while talking on the phone. Now i withdraw dollars instead of RON (local currency) and it is shown in my paypal balance.

Haven't found any answers yet. This is outrageous, i received 70 RON less (~$18) even though the USD currency is stronger. PAYPAL, we need ANSWERS! Why have you changed this? LET THE BANK DO THE CONVERSION, NOT YOU! There must be an option for your clients to CHOOSE whether they want the BANK or PAYPAL do the conversion!!

Can someone please tell me why paypal is now converting money and not my bank? I've just withdrew $500 and now my paypal balance shows me the amount in RON instead of USD. Why did paypal change this?? I want my bank to convert the money, not paypal ! I also verified the exchange rates for the previous withdrawal (13 oct - same amount $500), and even though the rate was lower (USD was weaker in that day) i received more money in RON!!

Thanks for the reply I don't recall having such a low conversion rate. Has this fee increased recently? As said before, last week i had a higher conversion rate of ~3.85 RON / USD, even though the USD was weaker. Even so, 3% is too much, at $1000 i'm being charged $30 ! And i thought the bank is converting the USD into RON, not paypal! Paypal should only transfer the USD to my bank! Can't i change this and have my bank's conversion rate?

Hi, I noticed that paypal changed the layout of the withdraw page, before i couldn't see the conversion rate and how much would i get in Romanian currency (RON). Even so, after withdrawing $500 to my credit card (in RON), i personally calculated the exchange rate which usually was 3.85 RON for 1 USD (this was one week ago). Since then, the USD currency got stronger compared to my local currency RON, therefore expected to receive more money. Now the withdraw page shows how much money i will receive in RON and the conversion rate. I was shocked to see the insanely low conversion rate paypal was offering me! 3.78 RON for 1 USD!! This is about $12 less then i received one week ago for the same amount ($500)!!! I feel like i'm getting ripped off by paypal!! What is going on here?! Im having a concern right now. I escalated the dispute despite the fact that the seller provided a tracking number for the lost item. I checked the tracking number and the last action was 【 Guangzhou互换局】Export security scan - IN TRANSIT. this was in 7th December 2016. My concern is how will paypal resolve this? I never received the item even though the item was tracked and lost apparently. I dont want to end up without the item nor my money, this would be stealing and frankly, this should be the sellers responsability to insure the package and make sure it gets to the buyer. How does paypal usually solve this type of disputes?

Hi, I bought an item on eBay in October and still haven't received it after 3 months. I contacted the seller but the seller keeps asking for my address and that he "will check it soon" (probably track the item down?). The "request for refund" button is no longer available so i'm asking you, is there a way to get my money back? I never lost an item on eBay before and don't want to end up without my item or money. The item had a tracking number, i guess it could be verified that the item has never been picked up?

After a phone conversation, everything sorted out. Looks like all i had to do is match the address from my bill with the one in my Paypal account - letter by letter.

Hi, My account has been recently blocked for ID verification and physical address - Paypal asks me to provide several copies of legal documents. Because i can't provide a copy of a utility bill (all my bills are in my mother's name), i sent Paypal a copy of a recent Bank Statement which has my name on it and my physical address below. It is signed and stamped by a bank official. Their reply was: "The document provided unfortunately is not considered a proof of address. Please send us a valid document that proves you live at the address which is currently registered on your PayPal account. What is a valid proof of address? We accept a copy of: [...] Bank or credit card statements". I provided a Bank statement which proves my address. All my earnings are going through Paypal but Paypal is holding my funds! I can't pay my rent nor my monthly expenses! This is getting frustrating!
