I have recently had some fraudulent activity on my Checking Account, and was forced to get the account number changed, but there does not appear to be any way to use the 'Confirm Instantly' option to link the new account.... Every time I attempt it, a box opens up asking me to enter my bank login information,[Removed]  I know it is correctly entered, the page changes to a small circle spinning around in the center of the page for a few seconds, then comes back with en error saying 'There was a problem linking to the account, please try again later'.  I am not impatient, and would be fine waiting for the supposed '2 transactions method', but PayPal never sends them. ... I woke up this morning and tried to add funds to my PayPal Balance from my bank account, which has been linked for years, but all of a sudden it won't work.... Instead of transferring the money, it gives me the following error -   'We’re having trouble with this transaction Try again with another debit card or bank account.'   So, I attempted to link my bank again, but am getting another error from that as follows -   'Something went wrong We couldn't link your bank. I tried to add funds to my PayPal Balance today, and ended up instead getting endless error messages from the website.... Alright so update I guess.... I ended up calling PayPal about this ignorance, and was told, in very broken English, that even though I have added my new number to my account that it may take several days before it is considered 'Trusted' by the system. As such, the only thing the lady could offer me was to reset my password, which is just ridiculous, as it has NOTHING to do with the problem. I am still very confused by all of this, and cannot understand what is supposed to happen over the course of the next 'several days' that will make my new number trustworthy, and I am assuming this to be just another 'go away you bother me' tactic used by the call center to allow agents to pretend to offer support, while providing no real answers.  In any case, this seems to be a completely unfixable issue with PayPal's login procedure, that nobody, including their so called 'Support Agents' have any clue on how to correct.  Sorry guys, maybe find an alternative to PayPal, or just accept that you will not be allowed to change your account information, without jumping through MILES of flaming hoops!!   ... I have also noticed recently that logging into my PayPal account has become an excersise in fighting security bots. For the last couple of weeks, every time I try to log into my account I enter my login name, then it asks me to enter a one time code to continue. Underneath this there is the option to try another way, which has the option to login using password. I always choose this option as it was alwayts the way you logged in before and I did not setup a change, but I guess PayPal just randomly changes its account logins without any warning. I could deal with that, as it is a simple enough workaround, but what is getting me is that after entering my username / Email, and my unique password, this is where the fun begins. Here I thought, stupid me, that a password was proof it was you enough, but apparently, the username & password combination just lets you progress to the security robot, who then makes you jump through 30 miles of flaming hoops to prove to it that you are you. The one that I am posting here about is the stupid 'sent a security code to your phone, please enter code to continue'. The problem I have with this is that it has an old number, from an old phone that I no longer have access to, and provides no means to update to a new number to complete the challenge. Your only option is to try and add a new number, which cannot be done because the stupid robot is ignorant, and cannot accept 'That type of number'. Truthfully I cannot understand what this error means, what is 'That type of number' exactly?? It is the same as any o0ther number I have ever used without issue, a moble number on my smartphone, but now it seems that the PayPal people, in their endless push to remove themselves from the process of dealing with accounts, has decided to leave everything up to buggy, poorly designed automated bots. I hate trying to ask a question in this so called 'Community' forum, because like most everything that King PayPal does, they treat you like you are a toddler that cannot make simple decisions.... For instance, in order to make this posting, I had to first choose from one of their preselected boards / labels none of which had anything whatsoever to do with my reason for writing this. I finally settled on Reporting / Statements, even though that is a wild shot in the dark in having anything to do with my post, because it was the closest I could find. Worse, if you do not choose from the choices THEY have made for you, there will be an error when you try to post telling you to 'correct highlighter errors' and not allowing you to post. All of this from a site / account that has become next to unusable recently with their buffoonish attempts at web security. Being forced to enter security check to log out of...

Recently, I have noticed that I am being allowed to log into my PayPal account without having to prove I am not a robot, but not being allowed to log back out again without getting a code sent to my phone, which then in turn just logs me back in.... I realize that PayPal has gotten somewhat overbearing about security of their accounts, but why would I be allowed to log into my account without concern, but have to prove I am real in order to log out?? That just seems stupid, as if some very poorly made algorithm is latched onto their account site, and has developed into some kind of virus.  PayPal has never been known to be internet savvy people, and their site security is indicative of that in the way they attempt to create a cyber-secure account environment, but miss the mark by a mile with every shot, but this is a new stupidity that is difficult to grasp. WHY DO I HAVE TO PROVE WHO I AM TO LOG OUT?? What possible security could that provide really?? Someone please explain this to me, and Thanks in advance!! ... View more

Hello everyone, I have been using PayPal now for many years, but recently, this past year or so, I have been constantly getting Emails claiming that I purchased an IPhone for hundreds of dollars to a couple of thousand dollars.... Except, I have an Android smartphone, and no desire to buy an IPhone whatsoever, as I truthfully do not trust Apple Products, nor the outrageous costs of them. This may seem ironic as I am typing this on my Macbook Pro laptop, but this heap of bugs was ridiculously expensive as well, at least for a laptop computer, coming in at almost $2600. In any case, the emails always say the same thing, that the purchase has been made, and the funds will be collected unless I call the number listed to dispute, or click the link. I am not a fool, and would never click a random link in an Email, but it is getting to be annoying now, and i was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this stupidity?? I have attempted to call PayPal, but was of course confronted by a robot instead of a human being, which kept hanging up on me when I asked for live agent help, so I am here with this.
