Bought something off Facebook marketplace,everything seemed fine but alarm bells started to ring when i asked a simple question,can i have the tracking number? I serm to have oaid by family and friends,i honestly didn't think it mattered how i sent it,i thought buyer protection applied to all paypal payments! Interesting one this,first time it's happened to me,but it has happened to others far worse than it's just happened to me(hundreds of pounds in some cases)!! So you pay in a foreign currency for an item,deal goes t*ts up,you get a refund 10 days later(should have been 5 days,seller made mistake). I paid $999 (£808),got refund after 10 days,$999 refunded to me(£770),tada!!!£38 quid up the swanny!!!So,where does it go?,Who profits from this??I'd love to know as someone is absolutely coining it in from that one!!! ... Another one of those situations i shouldn't have to be posting in here,paid a company in China $999 for an item,cancelled it,they sent me an email showing payment was refunded,but no sign of payment being refunded in paypal?? I opened a case but annoyingly,and quite commonly my problem wasn't listed out of the three or so options,there wasn't a 'Chinese people lied to me about refund' option,so i chose only one remotely close,'unauthorised transaction' The was closed 'against'me as quickly as i opened the case. I could have been pedantic and said a company keeping your $999 wasn't really 'authorised' but what do i do now,company incidentally are just ignoring me. ... View more
