Hey, so Paypal have a new thing where you need to enter a code when signing in for authentication purposes. Problem is, their only 2 ways to do this is with either a phone call or text message. But I don't use that number anymore, so I can't.   How do I get around this? Christmas coming up, I could with having access to my Paypal sharpish....   ... View more

Hey   So I bought a controller on ebay but the stick isn't working. I've contacted the seller, he's apologizing a lot and says he will refund me, but I can't see to open a case on ebay or Paypal. The guy doesn't speak much english so I'm struggling to proceed.   Ebay sends me to Paypal, then paypal sends me back to ebay, and when I get to the resolution center there, I click my item for 'item wasn't as described', and I get this message:   'You can't open a return on eBay for this item We can't process your return request to return this item because the item wasn't purchased on the US eBay site. Please contact the seller directly to return this item or see whether you qualify for eBay Money Back Guarantee.'   So what do I do from here? I've asked the guy again to just go on Paypal and give me a refund, but I think opening a case is the best course of action. I need to be the one instigate the refund or nothing will happen.   I find that this process has got much worse over the years. Why is it so complicated now? Why can't I just open a case these days? Hey. So about a year ago, I paid for something on ebay, then the seller immediately deleted his account. I tried to get a refund on paypal, but I couldn't access the resolution center correctly in this new layout. I can't remember all the details, but the payment was pending for ages then it went through. It was a cheap item, so I wasn't that bothered, but I did spend a lot of time on Paypal trying to get my money back.   Now I'm thinking of buying another item. Fairly cheap, but suspicious. I've checked feedback, which is 11 positive, but all from the last month, none for the item I'm considering. Some of the people who've left feedback have hundreds of positive feedback themselves.   just wanted to ask, if I am to proceed, what's the best way to go about ensuring I can get my money back if it's another fraud? I found last time that because the seller's account and item listing were gone, it was hard to access everything, as the resolution center on here kept sending me to ebay where everything had been deleted. ... I have tried that. What happens is, it forwards me to paypal and tells me "you haven't selected a transaction."   So I click "select a transactiong", which brings me to the old layout of paypal. I highlight the fraudulent transaction, click continue, which brings me to the current paypal resolution center in the current paypal layout.   In other words, in brings me to the resolution center I can access on Paypal already. Which, again, gives me 2 options: either report as a billing issue, or as unauthorized activity. It's neither of those things.   As it stands, the payment is still pending. If I click the transaction on the old layout, it says "You can still report the problem in the Resolution Centre within 180 days.", but when I click 'resolution centre', it says "This transaction cannot be disputed at this time. This is usually because the transaction has not yet been completed."   Is there anything I can do? Is there any way I can access Paypal strictly through the old layout rather than the current one?    Please help, I badly need it. ... View more

I bought some electronics on ebay for Xmas for what seemed a too good to be true price. The seller immediately closed their account.   I've tried contacting their email, but no use (and lets be real here, they have no intention of responding).   I thought this was a routine case and easy to get my money back on Paypal, but so far that's been proven wrong. The only 2 complaints I can file is for 1/ unauthorized payment, and 2/ a billing issue. Neither cover what I need.    I've had to get my money back on Paypal a few times, but I can't seem to do it anymore. I think resolution center has been changed, because they want me to contest this on ebay only.     What do I do guys? This has been very stressful to me and Paypal's email support has been terrible.
