Hello me again, I have tried phoning the customer service phone line. And was asked to pay by Credit Card to pay off the negative balance. However do not have one available, and while I would borrow a family/friends credit card with thier permission over the phone, they are capped for the next 3 weeks or so.   Are their alternative ways on paying for this? Example: Can another paypal account transfer the funds needed to pay off the negative balance?   As well, anyone know how long I would have to pay this off? Thank you.   EDIT: At Shoppers Drug Mart, anyone know how large the amount of pre-paid credit cards are? As well, do they have an activation fee? Like buy a $100 pre-paid card, but really there is only $93 on it or so, from the fee. ... View more

@DPCreationsOkay thanks, i'll wait not sure what else I can do. Anyways yes I did try to add funds from my bank account to the paypal account using this method: - Paypal website - ! Add money to resolve your balance (middle left corner) - Add funds using your bank account (6-8 business days) -> Continue - "From: MyBankName", Amount: "$###.00", "To: Paypal Account" -> Continue - Error of: "Please wait while we process your request. This may take a few minutes." OR - Error of:  "You may not add funds at this time. It is not necessary to have funds in your PayPal balance in order to send a payment." Hope this helps.   Wierd thing is that I am able to use paypal to make online purchases but the Negative Balance keeps going up as well, rather then declining my payments etc. ... View more

Hello, I am having difficulites once again resolving my Negative Balance.   I have followed the steps provided via automated message to attempt to resolve the issue but it has not yet worked: "B. How do I resolve my negative balance? You can choose from the following options to pay your negative balance: Use your bank account to add money to your PayPal account. Here's how to use your debit card or credit card to add money to your PayPal account balance:   Go to the PayPal website and log in to your account. Click Resolve your negative balance or Add money in the PayPal balance box. Follow the prompted steps to transfer money to your account. If you are given the option of using a debit or credit card to add money, it's considered a cash advance. Your card issuer may charge a fee for a cash advance.   Bank transfers should appear in your PayPal account within 6-8 business days." But whenever I try to pay off my negative balance I get the error "Please wait while we process your request. This may take a few minutes." or recieve a different error  "You may not add funds at this time. It is not necessary to have funds in your PayPal balance in order to send a payment." I have tried contacting paypal through e-mail, facebook and phone (always busy and takes 5 minutes to get to the proper directory).    As well, have tried using different web browsers (Firefox and Google Chrome). While there have been previous suggestions from what I have read to have a family member send money to pay for the funds or pay the funds over the phone via credit card. From what I understand when you send money, PayPal will automatically withdraw funds from your bank and linked accounts. Assuming this is the case, why did it not do this?    I can confirm that I have enough money in my bank account, looking at my previous bank account statement, so I dont necessarily think this is the case.   Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks in advance!   ... @premiumgopher I totally know what you mean on some sites I visit to compare shipping prices through the payment process,   My opinion is to check the reviews and feedback generally on the internet of the said store, or ask reddit 😛   Alternatively I would suggest switching to a different browser and checking if it is any different, example if you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox to use Google Chrome and see if the connection is now secure. ... @Davismckenna Oh sorry Im not too familiar with pre-paid cards.   Just maybe double check to see if there is funding on each one, or if there is some sort of code to enter before hand, to use? Like those gift cards at the mall, with their own individual pin code.   Hope this helps..?   ... View more

@holhome   Hello, I read this on another post and thought it might help you.   Log in to your PayPal account, click on the "Classic Site" link (bottom of page) and then click on the "All activity (with balance)" option. This will show your running PayPal account balance (in the right hand column) after each transaction and should make it easier for you to see how you arrived at your current PayPal account balance. Change the date range to cover whatever period is appropriate. Be sure you have the correct date range entered... this may take two tries because sometimes the selected date range reverts back to the previous setting. You can view all activity since you opened your PayPal account.   This way you can check if you did recieve that payment or not. ... View more

@Davismckenna   Hello, I am not sure but this may help you, but it may lead to finding a solution:   Do you currently have funds in your paypal account, that is less then or equal to the amount you are sending to the individual?   As I am not too sure if it works if you don't have any funds in paypal, yet have paypal set to withdraw from your chequings account automatically when making payments.   As that may be the case or maybe not. ... As to not confuse the with the solution above there are some underlying issues still.   - Paypal should notify you through e-mail when your balance is below 0 you sooner For a real example:  Transaction Date: March 16, 2016, however I recieved this message through e-mail from paypal on March 23, 2016. Thats an entire week! Yet they are able to send a message on completed transactions within seconds of paying.   - Paypal needs to be more clear when error transaction paypal screen occurs: Suggesting to try again later, switch browsers or clear your cookies cashe is not really ideal when the realy problem should be to `contact your bank`` or ``your linked bank account to paypal has no funds!,`` or just to even list it as a possible solution would be helpful.   Anyways had to then wait till near the beginning on the week March 28th-30th to resolve it, as the weekend/Friday were Holidays of Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Monday, and when I end work, the banks are also closed on the weekdays.   - The bank has should of phoned, or e-mailed me as I have online banking, so they could of notified me, but they didn`t! Until I contacted them through e-mail, phone and in-person.   - The bank could of taken actions to see where the source of withdrawals were coming from (paypal in this case), and see (not sure if they actually can) what e-mail account is linked to it. And contact or block that individual until the owner of the account goes in person, phones or e-mails to see what happened.   - The $5 non-sufficent funds charge coming from my bank were automatically refunded, as it wasn't able to be processed.I am not too sure why it was refunded, or why there is this charge and and a $40 returned item charge, as they should been 1 combined charge together, as having two seperate ones for the same case seems redundent, unless im missing something here.   I think overall it was the fault of my own lack of awareness of my balance on my end, and lack of information of the said errors occurring from the bank and paypal, in general and when informing the individual. But overall am glad that it was resolved.   Or will know when the 6-8 day transfer of funds from bank account to paypal finishes. ... View more

@sandypurins Thank you for all your help. I think every is finally resolved, and will be okay once the 6-8 day funds from my bank account transfers to pay off the negative balance on paypal.   As well I was able to complete the transaction later today using Chrome instead of Firefox, which prevented(?) the error from showing up.   As for your question: $40 fee's was a 'returned item charge' coming from my bank itself for not having money in my account and was charged for every failed transaction. This occurred 5-6 times on my account adding to $200-$240 by mistake!I was however refunded $100 of it, after multiple trips to the bank, an e-mail then 2 phone calls one for in regards to the $40 fee and why it was happening, and another to explain the situation again to them as they had more authority to determine if it was worth/they could provide some refunding,   $5 fee was for non-sufficient funds fee (to be honest I am not sure why it is charged as there was the $40 one) however on my bank statement all of it was refunded the next 2 days after the initial transaction, along with the charged item, (from when you showed me how to view my activity on paypal with balances rather then the default shown completed transactions on payal.) so there was in fact no stacking/compunding $5 or item charge, just the stacking $40 failed transaction charge.   I would like to label one of your answers as a solution to all my problems as they were solved with your help.   But if anyone has this problem in the future I would suggest these steps.   This is assuming: - Your paypal account is set to automatically withdraw money from your bank's chequings account - You have a negative balance on paypal - The negative balance is stacking up with each failed transaction shown on paypal   1) STOP dont panic, everything will be okay. Also STOP with any transactions even the one you are trying to complete.   2) Go to the bank, put money into your account. - The negative balance is occurring because your balance is below 0 - Deposit cash, as some cheques has 'holds' on them to clear, - Ask them to print off your bank account statement from when you think it started to happen.   3) Talk to your bank via phone, e-mail or directly with an 'accounts manager' and explain the situation how it was a mistake and if it would be possible to get a refund. They will probably redirect you or phone back at a later time and connect you with someone with the authority to determine if it is possible for a refund.   4) Now that you have money in your bank, you can use paypal again! use the 'add money' button and proceed to pay with payment of your choice.   5) You are no longer in negative balance.   Precautions in the future: - Always have money in your bank account or paypal account through 'Add Money' - If there is an error, STOP WHAT YOUR DOING, contact the bank through visiting phone or email, or try ONCE only on a different browser use Chrome. Continuing will STACK extra charges. - The charges are coming from the bank, not paypal or the site you are purchasing off of. - Have a recent bank statement printed off and check where you make a payment and get a refund as they could cancel out each other. - Use classic mode of paypal and go to "All activity (with balance)" option, to see what is happening in addition to your bank account statement.   TL;DR Negative Balance = Add money to your bank. $40 returned item charge = failed transaction cost is coming from bank, stop making transactions, explain your mistake to the bank, get partial refund. $5 non-suffient funds charge = non-exisistant as they are instantly refunded after 2 days from the inital transaction, and will just show on your bank account statement.   ... @sandypurins Okay thanks again. I was able to almost resolve everything. As from yesterday(?) I was able to obtain alot of information on where the charges are coming from, etc. Which solved one problem I had.   As well, I was able to speak with a representive over the phone with my bank just a few minutes ago maybe 8-12 and they were able to refund me $100 from my $240 worth of errors but at least its better than nothing. This solved another issue as mentioned last post.     "You need to use the PayPal "Add money" link on your PayPal Summary page to transfer money from your bank account to your PayPal account so that you can reconcile your negative PayPal balance. Make sure you have sufficient available funds in your bank account before starting the "Add money" process."   Yes, while on the phone I asked if there were any further issues with my bank account and they mentioned it was fine. That was great to hear and while I was STILL on the phone with them I told them I wanted to make a payment online to pay off my negative balance on paypal, and make sure nothing suspicious occurred on their end.   So as you mentioned, I did verify there was money in my account with them, and went to add money to transfer to paypal from my bank account.   However still got an error of:   >>>>>>> Please wait while we process your request. This may take a few minutes. <<<<<<<<<< Your current PayPal balance: -$283.24 CAD Accounts with sustained negative balances may restrict your ability to use your PayPal account. Resolving your negative balance will enable you to continue to use your PayPal account uninterrupted. Resolve your balance by adding funds to your PayPal account: - Add funds using your debit or credit card (Instantly) - Add funds using your bank account (6-8 business days) - Add funds by mailing a check to PayPal (7 business days after the check is received)   BUT nothing happened, I didnt go to a next screen, etc. It just reset the option circle I selected to the default top one of Add funds using your debit or credit card (Instantly) from my selected Add funds using your bank account (6-8 business days)   Any suggestions on what to try for this part? Should I just try again later which is my default plan? try a different browser (browser issue)? 'wait' if its on the bank end and needs to process 6-8 days (even though on paypal the screen didnt indicate if it went through or not)? or is this a paypal issue? call paypal and hope not for a busy line after navigating to the proper department in English for 5 minutes?   Anyways I told them I would be trying again later tonight and making the paypal payment, and phoning them after work today, and see what happens.   Please let me know what you think, what might be the issue or I should try.   Thanks again for all your advice! ...
