Hi cathy01, You would receive a standard charging cable however not a car charger. As the reader is compatible with any USB 2.0 A to Micro B Cable, if you have a power source in your vehicle you could charge it this way but I will certainly pass the idea to the PayPal Here team directly. Siobhan

Try a different card reader to make sure the reader isn't defective. Try the reader in a different phone or tablet to make sure it isn't the jack on the device causing the problem. Make sure the jack is firmly inserted with no obstructions. Re-install the app on the device.
