Hi there Lister110,
I'm really sorry about the delay in getting back to you on this.
Firstly, there are different services available for customers to avail of. The types of service differ depending what you would need for your business.
You can accept credit card, debit card, and bank account payments on your website by using PayPal Website Payments. You can choose two payment options:
Website Payments Standard lets customers shop on your website but pay securely on the PayPal website. It is a quick and easy way to accept card and bank payments online. Your customers don't even need a PayPal account to make a payment.
Website Payments Pro lets customers shop and pay on your website without knowing that PayPal is being used to process payments. This solution is similar to merchant accounts and gateways and has a low monthly cost. You can also give customers the option to pay quickly and conveniently through their PayPal account.
Here's how you can learn more about PayPal Website Payments:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
Click ‘Products & Services’ near the top of the page.
Click ‘Website Payments Standard’ or ‘Website Payments Pro’ under ‘Ways to get paid.’
Virtual Terminal allows you to accept credit card payments without a credit card swipe machine. Your customers can place orders in person, by phone, by post, or by fax. You enter their information in Virtual Terminal. We process the transaction and you get paid.
Here's how to learn more about Virtual Terminal:
Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
Click 'Merchant Services.'
Click 'Accept Payments by phone (Virtual Terminal)' under 'Other payment tools.'
There are fees applied on a monthly basis for both of these services. When you go through on the different links, you will be advised of the different features and costs that are applied to each service. This would enable your buyers to make a payment without having a PayPal account and you wouldn't need a secondary secure system either.
There is also a test feature available for you if you wish to test your website before activating it. This information should also be provided on the above links also.
I hope this information helps,
David.
