Re: Paypal dispute process not fair at all

Food for thought-   If someone does not communicate nor pay 2 weeks- I file a non paying bidder.  Easiest way to separate the scammers from the honest folk. I *thought* eBay had a thing where if you filed one- you couldn't be negged (or it could be removed?) Don't quote me on that part.   The other part has to do with the credit card companies. If you have tracking (signature confirmation) and such- you should be able to submit that to Paypal. Did they deduct and close the case- or are the funds on hold? Theft of $1600+ should land someone in some hot water- and would be an amount that you could take them to small claims court and generally make it not worth their time to attempt to steal.   Anyways- sorry to hear this happened. Good luck with the outcome! ... View more

I think he can file a claim- but I'd imagine that you'd win (assuming you have tracking and all of that stuff). ... View more

Yeah- file through Paypal. Honestly- try that route first, it's a couple of clicks and the seller *has* to provide delivery confirmation to get out of a claim.   And if you don't get your item and the seller was b-sing then go ahead and leave a negative 🙂 ... View more

Yeah. that's an easy one- the process would be a little more tricky if you went through a Paypal account, but your credit card should square you right away. ... View more

I can't speak for feedback- but financially the claim closing would be a good thing, no? I'm assuming this means that they will no longer have any way to come after your money?   I'm curious as to the outcome of this. Good luck! ... View more

Did you file a claim with Paypal? I'd go that route myself. They might attempt to make you return the stuff- but it also might light a fire under the seller and get them to follow through. ... View more

I think the seller protection is more to protect you from an unruly buyer, rather than USPS messing up and eating your package. Insurance is to cover that part. I apologize if I steer you in the wrong direction- but I am not sure I'd count on it. Did you get tracking at all> ... View more

I would strongly suggest not selling a car that way on Craigslist. If someone is serious about buying it sight unseen- have them send a check/money order and put it on security hold at your bank.   99% of car buying sight unseen on Craigslist is a fraud anyways. ... View more

Sold an item on eBay- shipped it through eBay/Payp...

Alrighty- the title says it all- but to recap-   sold an item on eBay. Buyer has 10+ positive feedback, no negatives. I ship the item within 2 days of payment. I paid for the shipping label through Paypal/eBay- USPS Priority mail w/ signature confirmation. Basically- I followed all of the steps outlined in the seller protection window for the payment. I am eligible for seller protection clean and clear. I also do enough through paypal that they gave me that "preferred customer" or whatever it's called (faster response times and whatnot).   Anyways- the buyer just today files an "unauthorized claim". They never made any effort to contact me. The item was just delivered today (and signed for by the guy that bought it). Now- Paypal put all of those funds on hold. I had already withdrawn some of it to my bank account- so they can't touch that- but they put my account in the red almost $100. This basically means that I gave some eBay stuff away- and me and my daughter will be shorted a good chunk of our Christmas money.   This person very obviously is trying to scam me- what else can I do? I responded to the Paypal claim already with the tracking information and whatnot- but I am really getting worried. I can't afford to just give away stuff- especially not this time of the year!   What are my chances of getting my money back? I already shipped an item (not to mention paid for shipping, ebay/paypal fees and such on it as well!) ... View more
