OldMarine and wizlaws- If you can add a prepaid debit card to PayPal (which in most cases doesn't work since the card can't pass our verification process), you would only be able to make purchases with those cards. Part of our user agreement and our agreement with the credit cards themselves is that you can't use PayPal for cash advances from cards. Which is essentially what you're doing if you could add funds from your card to your PayPal balance.

Mine just did the same. iI added one like a week ago. Its the same type of gift card only more value. this is very irritating. Paypal needs to get this together.. I have things i need to pay for.

If you have an AmEx gift card, you have to first activate it, then add your name and mailing address to the card. The phone number is: 1-877-297-4438

So.... another month has gone by since I posted my frustration at only receiving 1/2 the money they said I'd get. At the same time I sent e-mails to the people who are supposed to "help". Imagine that! No response or reply from anyone with PayPal. Hmmm. Guess I got my answer!

I am also having this problem, both the code and paypal are not it the description, all there is is a 10 digit long string of nubers followed by NE and the a 5 digit long string of numbers.

PayPal system of adding money from my bank is very poor. I waited six days for it to process and the money was taken from my bank but was not added to my PayPal balance. My account says that it's still being processed. I tried to call costumer service and was put on hold and never answerd. If this is the way PayPal does business then they quit and get a real job.

I know! I keep getting false error messages. They keep saying that they are “improving” the website but so far I don’t see it. It’s just making it worse on members. The purpose of having it is so that we don’t have to give out private information but now that’s what they keep asking for! That makes no sense unless you’re a seller. They even took away the option of using prepaid cards! The point of those cards is to be safe!
