Quick Summary of what happened. Someone raised a dispute for unauthorised transaction I decided to refund his money but the refund button from his purchase doesnt work as the money bounces back. I decided to Send a refund through goods/services quoting refund to this person and has notified paypal in regards of this and they said they will close the case. Received an email that the dispute is in my favor and was closed. 2 weeks later i received a call from paypal collections and when i checked my account I have a negative balance of double the amount of what I refunded this person. Apparently the dispute went through and on top of that this person open a dispute with his bank which they approved aswell. So pretty much this guy got 3 times of his money and now paypal expects me to shoulder the responsibility. PS: we're talking about thousands of dollars Does anyone know what to do in this situation?
