Why do I have to add my bank acct. to paypal

I have had paypal for years with a CC# attached.  I now have an email saying I am 2.98 away from HAVING to add my bank acct.

I do not want anyone to have access to my bank acct.  I have a credit card attached which I have never had a problem with.

Any ideas??

If they say you have to add a bank account, then you have to add a bank account.

Make sure that you go into paypal from your browser directly to do it, not some email link.

I find it's always good for transfering funds out of Paypal !!!
