Held Funds - Shipping fees not available...

II DO have a serious question here. A policy IS STATED  but is NOT BEING IMPLIMENTED!  Yes of course I am ranting. My grandma is dying and this is our gas money to go and take care of her and we are stuck here at home and rent is around the corner! BUT my OP is:

"Hi, I've been an eBay user/seller for YEARS and this is the first time i ever saw or heard of the 21 day hold. My grandma is dying of cancer and we are all under terrible duress and the money I made this week was supposed to pay for gas money to go see and help her and also get my phone turned back on so I can communicate w/my family about her and her status. I'm sickened and stressed! I don't have much in the bank so imagine my surprise and horror when I ship my packages with comfort of this message on the payment hold FAQ link on my PayPal account page: "If you print labels and pay for shipping through PayPal or eBay, the cost of shipping will be released from your pending balance shortly after purchase. Printing labels on eBay and PayPal is free. You're charged only the cost of shipping." ... I paid for the shipping on two packages expecting the funds to come from the amount that they held as the statement above implies, but instead it came out of my bank account! I printed the labels through eBay. I don't know if that's the problem. If so that's eff'ed up. They received the money through PayPal, why now they are not recognizing connection? Before tracking packages was available through my PayPal account, even though I paid through eBay, but now I had to enter the tracking number manually from eBay! Why the sudden switchup? What am I going to do? I had in writing right in front of my face that the funds would come from  my held balance, but it was not true, and I hope I do not get an overdraft charge now as I wasn't expecting/prepared for this. I wanted to ship my stuff fast to get my funds realeased asap (not that I don't do it at a great rate already). This is just a nightmare!!! D:>"

You're charged only the cost of shipping." <<< This is not ranting, but a clear question of why did they tell me this policy is the way it works and then when I went through with buying shipping labels, it didn't happen this way. I did not have the cost of shipping released from my pending balance shortly after purchase...

This is maddening! My mom had to call someone and beg for $7 to take me and my sister to our schools. I sold an expensive skirt today. I can't ship it until Saturday when Mom gets her disability check. I have over $200 in my PayPal account and we have no food or gas or any way to ship any packages until Mom gets paid. In the meantime, we have to find an alternative way to pay for the sold merchandise as it's on consignment. Why are they killing people? I want to give up, but I have no alternatives. I started college and have a heavy load. I cannot work right now.. I did no offenses to deserve this and we are not financially fit to be able to float on sales for 21 days. omg this is **bleep**. I don't even have funds to ship. So if PayPal "might" release funds when buyer recieves item or leaves feedback, I still have to get the package out in the first place! We don't have a phone right now, so I can't call them. I've been trying to access a chat operator or email them, but neither of these are available. I'm stuck.

Now my eBay fees are due! Will they take the fees from my "held" funds? cuz I got more than enough money held, but NOTHING in my bank and I cannot afford an overdraft if eBay pings my PayPal account and cannot access my held funds and so overrides that option and goes straight for my bank account! Also, one package arrived yesterday to my customer. I can clearly see though the tracking info. Will PayPal automatically take this into consideration, or do I actually have to call them? Cuz I don't have a phone! cuz I can't pay my bills! Cuz PayPal has all my money!!!! D:<

I print shipping labels from PayPal and that seems to work fine, so you might try that in the future, rather than printing through Ebay.

As far as the money you need now, I am having s similar problem in literally pleaDing with them to release $1140.00 that I need for an item that is tied up in customes in France.  There is no reason to hold it.  There is no negligence on my part.  The item was shipped.  It is not my fault that customs is taking a long time in France.  But they do not care. 

Basically, PAYPAL OWNERS ARE GREEDY AND HEARTLESS TO HAVE the polices and practices that they use.  They truly don't care.  You can beg and plead and go through the whole humiliating process of begging for YOUR MONEY, but they HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF "WE CAN STEAL YOUR MONEY AND EARN INTEREST ON IT AT ANY TIME WE FEEL LIKE IT -- JUST BECAUSE WE CAN --AND WE HAVE A LEGION OF LAWYERS TO FIGHT OUR CASE IF YOU TRY TO DO ANYTHING BOUT IT."  That pretty much sums up PayPal's mission statement.

I"VE NEVER IN MY LIFE ENCOUNTERS SUCH A GREEDY COMPANY THAT HAS NO CONCERN FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS' EXPERIENCE.  THEY DO NOT TREAT SELLERS AS CUSTOMS -- THOUGH THEY EARN MILLIONS FROM US.  THEY TREAT US LIKE SERFS AND THEY ARE THE KINGS OF GREED.

SOME DAY IT WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT THEM AND SELLERS WILL STOP SELLER BY THE MILLIONS.

UNTIL THEN, YOU CAN PLEAD ALL YOU WANT AND PAYPAL DOES NOT CARE ONE BIT.  THE OWNERS INSTRUCT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE:  JUST KEEP SAYING NOT TO ANY SELLER WHO PLEADS WITH YOU FOR FAIRNESS.

THAT TRULY IS THEIR POLICY. 

I EMPATHIZE WITH YOUR PROBLEM.  In fact, if you need $10 for gas money, I will send it to you just to be nice.   Let me know if I can help.   The world has some nice people in it, but the PAYPAL owners are not in that category.  We can vent here, but PAYPAL owners truly don't care.  It's what's wrong with the global economy -- corporate greed -- the rich get ricer -- while the little people trying to sell stuff on Ebay to get by are denied their timely payments so the rich owners can get richer. 

It's sad to see Ebay/Paypal get ruined this way.  It was once a great forum to buy and sell, but no longer.  Expect the problems to get worse not better.  Selllers are treated progressively worse.
