HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

Think the we need to start sending complaints to the state banking commissions, just type it into your browser and click on your state link. Like the one below.  How are we supposed to send items to buyers if eBay places holds on funds paid to us directly from a bidder.  E-bay has no authority over my accounts!

If we file enough complaints either paypal will be no longer or the ebay bull crap will stop!!

I just sold something on eBay and just found out about this 21 day hold of funds.. I'm so **bleep**. I've been selling and buying from eBay since 2003 and have been using Paypal. I've never had any complaints and have 100% feed back and they decide to hold my money?! On top of that they are raising their rates? That's just crap. Stick to transferring money. I'm really close to just never shopping on eBay and just totally closing my Paypal account. Having this policy leaves it open for buyers to abuse sellers.

oh they are randomly holding funds from accounts now to verify identity. just wait for that, out of  no where you cant get access to your funds you cant pay for your ebay auctions you won, and therefor get strikes. its loads of fun with paypal.

5 days givin them 7 forms of id, more than it took me to buy a car. still limited access.   paypal is doing what it can to hold on to cash and this will kill ebay.

Thanks very for that information. Even though I have two stores ( one on blujay.com and the other on ioofer.com ), I browsed the site it may be worth having a third store through them!

And also that's exactly what I'm talking about: expressing and sharing knowledge and information!

While yes at times it can be a little inconvenient its not the end of the world. . Ship your items with tracking and the funds are released within 72 hours of delivery so you don't have to wait 21 days or wait for feedback. Its pretty simple. If you are doing your job correctly you don't have that much to worry about. Printing labels through PayPal makes it easy. The holds are random anyway. If you are doing a good job on the site and have established a selling history with eBay the inconvenience is minimal however does give something for more people to complain about. Good luck to all of you.

Question for Chkpls:  Do you work for eBay or PayPal?
Wow ~ you've got it all figured out and you must be a "perfect" eBay seller by "doing your job correctly."  There are MANY eBay sellers that have been selling on eBay for years and have 100% feedback that are having their funds held for 21 days.
Most (99%) of the packages I ship are international shipments and unless my customers want to pay outrageous shipping rates I ship everything either USPS International First Class Mail or USPS International Priority Mail.  Packages shipped internationally are not tracked online unless they are shipped via USPS Expedited or Express mail so there is no way PayPay can confirm delivery via the USPS website.  I'm pretty much **bleep**ed unless I can get my international buyers to leave feedback which is sometimes very difficult to do.  It isn't "pretty simple" in my case.
I'm a top rated seller and a gold level power seller and I'm still caught in the 21 day hold hassle (beginning June 1st).  It isn't "pretty simple" for all eBay sellers.  Some people are having their grocery money and utility bill money held by PayPal.  PayPal isn't just messing with money in our accounts ~ they are messing with people's lives.

Chkpls  did you read  a few pages of replies or one reply.  When you read do you think at the same time.  I doubt it.  You remind me of the parrots and monkeys working in PayPal / Ebay customer service
