HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

  Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I used the "reply" to your post to another community member and gave a rather lenghty post - I tried to make it less, but I needed to get all  of the information in so I could get a direct answer.

I'm assuming you are a community liason between members and Paypal.  Could you read my post and answer the best you can how I can get the hold completely removed from my account and how I can possibly get an answer from an account specialist after my three attempts to get and answer and still no reply.

I would appreciate it very much.

YOU ARE MY MIRROR IMAGE!!  They did the same thing to me!! I buy & sell on E-BAY & my cash is all tied up on "HOLD" & because of that I'm about to receive negative feedback. I sent packages priority mail " AT MY EXPENSE" to get it there faster so I can get paid so I can pay others hopefully in time. I tried to do a money transfer to cover my butt , but anyone knows that has tried to use that method it moves as fast as snails f**k  I'm spsniper8278 & I just wrote a paragraph about that policy & I believe that they are using our money to get interest payments, I'm loosing everything!! That's dirty business I hope my customers/sellers understand. Don't worry about terrorists from overseas,THEY ARE ALREADY HERE AT PAY-PAL!..........."PAY-PAL ,THE FAST EASY WAY TO GO BANKRUPT" !!

Same Story for everyone . so what will Paypal say? nothing . why ? they are making money . Lots of Money . so what do we do . i say since this is the U.S.A . not the U.S.S.R . or CHINA . i will see you in Court Paypal . i will get my money Back . and i guarantee you will Pay lots of Money back .

The problem here is that Paypal and Ebay and our beloved ,John Donohoe could not give a hout and  do not care, they do not listen to our crys, only what they devise in their little brains,  they are probably the most hated company in the World, and gaining momentum daily, and Wayne,    please take a bath or do somehting useful get real boy!

Why is this tread labeled as solved?

Nothing is solved, I'm on day 15 of waiting for my funds (a substantial amount for me) to be released because the buyer never bothered to leave feedback. There is legion of angry customers out there and this is solved? What, just sweep it under the rug and call it case closed?

This policy needs to be changed, I'm mad as heck about it.

I agree!  I wrote back at the first of the week that I was going to start a new thread referencing the title of this thread so we could continue this discussion and it would not have a check mark indicating that it was solved and hopefully get the attention of someone from Paypal who will actually answer our questions here!

Each time I tried to start the new thread it would not let me.  This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous and Paypal refuses to provide any reps. who actually have some decision-making authority when we email or contact them by phone. 

I haven't listed anything on ebay since the new policy went into effect and I pulled all of my listings then.  After being an ebay seller since 2003 with 100% always- I just refuse to sell on ebay until the hold is off my account permanently.  Ebay and Paypal are essentially the same company since ebay owns Paypal so I am not giving either any of my business - selling or buying.

I was going to title the new thread - Not Solved Re: 21 day hold on funds??? - but, each time I clicked on the "start a new thread" and put in the title and my post and I clicked "submit" I would get a message saying too many entried over the x number of hours.  I can't remember how many the x number of hours was.  I tried several different times during the days and it would not go further than the above message.

I wanted to keep our discussion alive with a new thread referencing this one so people who have posted here can continue to post without a "Solved" check mark next to this thread.

I'll try it again later today and see if I can get it to post.  Thanks!

I also have been DUPED by PayPal and will let others know.  I am trying to receive a security deposit return.  Started on June 26 and will not have money in my account until July 7, 2010.  This must be ILLEGAL to do this to customers.  Will NEVER EVER use PayPal again!!!  Also, I will not deal with anyone who requests i use PayPal.  Also, need to change name of PayPal to NeverPalU!
