Syyl60, This is terrible. You should call the Better Business Bureau and I believe they also have an online Better Business Bureau for companies who do business online only, i.e Paypal, eBay. You can ask them about it. I have read quite a few posts by people who have called them. They should check out each call, but it will give them a lot of motivation to really make a push on this issue with Paypal the more people call them about it. I called them and wrote a letter describing in detail my experience of having the 21 day hold - I didn't fit into any of the categories Paypal listed as accounts the 21 day hold policy would apply to and I've had 100% and the highest DSR's during my 7 years with eBay. Finally, Paypal has taken the 21 day hold off my account - but, as disorganized as Paypal is about dealing with their customers, they could just as easily put the hold back on my account. I have no confidence in Paypal. When I first came into this forum thread I clicked on the option to receive an email each time there is a new post in this thread because I want to stay with a group people who are angry about this mess so we can takes steps together to continue pushing this issue until Paypal makes a policy change. What happened with your account is a mistake that anyone could easily make and it should not be an issue for Paypal to correct it and for your bank to correct whatever triggered them to get into it. If they don't get this resolved quickly for you, it might be possible to cancel the Paypal account your son has now and open a new one for him. It's just an idea, but it would work. Paypal should be an easy way for parents to send money to their kids when they are in school or not in school for that matter. Come back into this thread and let us know what happens next with this problem. You certainly have our support.
