HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I know! That completely **bleep** me off that they are doing that to me! I have 100% positive feedback on ebay. I don't understand why paypal thinks they have the right to hold MY money for however long they want! I no longer have the item OR my money!

I finally got my 32 dollars and that was only because I called them and reminded them they needed to release my funds today because it was 21 days and they asked me for a tracking number which I told them I didn't get because I sent it media mail now I get a tracking number no matter who it goes too although I have not encountered this problem with half.com or amazon but if it will get me paid faster in the future it is not a big deal to get it  now that I know how we are going to play this new game and reminded them that was why my payment was being held for 21 days to begin with. As soon as the funds hit my account I am closing Paypal and avoiding ebay like the plague I wouldn't want to put anyone else through this crap so just counting the days until I will be leaving here and waiting for the class action suit Probably about 5 years thats how long most suits take to resolve. But IRS is after their butt too and that won't take nearly as long can't wait. to get out of  the land of ripoffs.

PayPal has lost its way.. And, as a result, has instituted a policy which has a very negative effect on sellers.. Especially, those like me who do volume selling... Each time we sell an item, we have to take an additional step of inputting the tracking info into the PayPal data base... AND GUESS WHAT??? Even after the item had been delivered... PayPal holds the funds for THREE additional days.. According to PayPal, "To protect the buyer"... This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.  The buyer has the item and if there is a defect or some other problem the buyer can open a dispute with E-bay.  As a consequence of this new policy I immediately transfer any available funds to my business check account as they become available to me.. Everyone should do the same.. And maybe, just maybe, PayPal will rethink this policy..

Following is an e-mail I sent to PayPal's Customer service
Hello,

I have been using PayPal and E-bay for a number of years and, as a result, my business has grown each and every year.  I am not the largest seller on e-bay ..by far.  However, I do process a fair number of orders each month....  With the summer months being my busiest time of year. Thus far, for the month of June, I have shipped a total of 41 items to customers [+5 items/day].. And the sales will begin to show a dramatic increase as we get deeper into the summer months.

I absolutely do not agree with your policy of withholding the funds because I cannot see how it benefits the buyer?  If the buyer has a dispute , he can file it with E-Bay and in the case of a "Did not receive the item" complaint, PayPal will ask for a tracking number or proof of delivery. If there is no proof of delivery, PayPal will reverse the transaction. I am of the opinion, that losing your ability to sell on E-bay is enough of an incentive for a seller to act in the best interest of the buyers.

I suggest that perhaps you have your new policy in effect for those sellers who have not established a track record, sell infrequently on e-bay, have a significant number of complaints...... Or have a serious violation of the seller/buyer relationship.. IE: Inaccurate advertising, false representation of an item, etc.

OR if a seller agrees to ship all items with a tracking number the funds will not be withheld. In the event that the seller  does not... PayPal will hold funds on all future transactions until the New PayPal policy is complied with.

Selling and shipping, in any volume, takes time and to add an extra step having to put the tracking number, for each transaction, on the PayPal site is time consuming and is totally unfair to the sellers who have made PayPal what it is today. Lastly, to hold the funds for an additional three days after delivery is confirmed is beyond the pale.  We [sellers] work hard for our money and should not be penalized for a few bad apples... Instead, PayPal should aggressively weed out the bad apples and they should be banned from both E-bay & PayPal.

Respectfully,

I AM HAVING TO DEAL WITH SAME THING. I THINK ITS HOW THEY HIDE ALL THE MONEY THEY'RE **bleep**ING PEOPLE OUT OF. EVERY SINCE THEY DID THAT TO MY 100% FEEDBACK PERFECT STANDING NO REASON FOR BULLS--T EXCUSE THEY GAVE FOR RANDOM REVIEWS AND RED FLAGS, NONE OF THE BALANCES OR TOTALS MATCH OR MAKE SINCE. MY PAYMENTS ON HOLD EVEN STARTED CHANGING TO LOWER & LOWER AMOUNTS, HOW MANY FEES ARE THEY GOING TO TRY & SQUEEZE  OUT OF THIS NEW PAYMENT HOLD SCAM THEY HAVE GOING. SOMEHOW THEY EVEN PUT MY BALANCE IN THE NEGITIVE. AND THEYRE REPORTS ARE A BIG FAT WAY OF HIDING ALL THE MONEY & FEE'S THEY DONT SEEM TO EVER LIST AS ITS BEING DONE OR IN ORDER THEY ONLY REFERENCE THEM SO TO SEND U ON A WILD GOOSE CHASE SO YOULL GIVE UP. NOT ME THOUGH I AM GOING TO BE FILING COMPLAINT AND DEMANDING A DETAILED REASON FOR BULL**bleep** FLAG ON ACCOUNT ONE PAYPAL IDIOT TRIED TO COME UP WITH, BUT FUNNY EBAY HAS TOLD ME EVERYTIME I CALL THEY SEE NO REASON FOR FUNDS BEING HELD, PAYPAL KEEPS TRYING TO TELL ME EBAY IS WHO HAD THEM PUT THE HOLDS. I WANT ON PAPER EVERY DIME IN ORDER OF HOW & WHY IT WAS TAKEN OR CHARGED. SOMEONE WILL GIVE ANSWERS INSTEAD OF NON ENGLISH REPS TRYING TO SPEED TALK THE EXCUSES AND ACT LIKE THEY DONT KNOW THE LATEST SCAM THEYRE TOLD TO TRY AND DANCE AROUND AND MAKE SOUND LIKE NOT A LOAD OF CRAP.

IM FED UP WITH THESE FEE CHARGING THIEVES THINKING THEY CAN **bleep** PEOPLE OUT OF WHAT IS MONEY THEY HAVE COMING TO THEM, SO IM SORRY FOR THE LONG UNLOAD BUT IVE HAD ENOUGH.

Yeah right,,Paypal, you better review your policy on your 21 day hold,if I sell a item you want me to ship the product,(pay the shipping)and wait 21 days to see if some cry baby is or isnt happy with a set of hubcaps !!!!!!!ARE YOU FOLKS NUTS?????Sorry if your insulted but its you thats insulting to make peaople take a chance of getting **bleep**ed around by you for 1,sticking your nose where it dont belong, your supposed to be a way for smooth transactions and your also here to help. For one,I am not shipping anything untill its paid for(and you wouldnt either)and no buyer is waiting a month for thier item, from fenders to complete restored cars,or anything else! How do I compare you with your nonsince. You will be loosing 10s of thousands, of costumers and your best buddy e-bay also for jumping in bed with you on this(E-Bay,are you nuts)and this will lead to folks selling via other sites and getting paid the way your supposed to,I thought 3 days was to much seeing this is done all online. If someone has done a buyer wrong it should be between the party & e-bay and since when did you get the bright idea to do what the banks cant even do,change it,be here to do what your supposed to do and thats transact moneys, and thats it,what your doing is pathatic and common folks will not put up with this, your getting paid well.Change your 21 day policy are its the begening of the end for you& your BS way of doing things. And to whome this may concern, anyone with a paypal account this happend to me because some whiney little **bleep** that likes making trouble didnt get thier way, they were outbid and lost out,in my case, all this hassle over one crybaby that didnt get there way so paypal sticks thier nose it without even hearing my side wich is e-bays job, paypal, make it right, your really making alot of folks mad-Change back or you & I are thru & many otheres, dont you think folks are fed up allready,I dont want to have to write again!

I am what you would call a "casual seller/casual buyer".  Whenever I have something that is needed for the house/family or needed to be sold for financial reasons, I come on here to take care of business quickly, or at least that how it used to be.  I recently sold an item to a customer, they paid promptly, they picked up the item (we met them, had a brief conversation), and I am still waiting for my money. I noticed that my money was pending, so it said I had to wait 7 days.  The transaction occurred on May 25th.  I believe that was two weeks ago, and when I just checked, it said that the funds would not be released until the 14th, what kind of jive is that. Paypal is holding y money, earning interest off of it, and then passing it back to me; all the while, the purchaser has gone along their merry way.  This type of dealing makes us want to go another route for payment.  I should have told the to just bring cash.  Not liking this new policy.  Sorry for all of you sellers out there, but this is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. And for all of the buyers (including me), this is not fair for us as well.  We as buyers have no idea this is going on when we receive our items.  This syste does not work for the casual purchaser/seller.  That is only obvious from the many posts/complaints I have scanned.  I hope they revamp this system soon.

Any comments PayPal?

yes, i should read it for myself. however we all know they need to make it as hard to understand as possible... im just not a good reader... if anybody can please help me out with just a few questions, id greatly appreciate it.

- when I log into my account overview there is red tagged header that says

"Important message about your account. From now on, money you receive will be temporarily held in a pending balance. "

is this correct? Or should i have clicked the link that would have said in reallt big letters.... "april fools"

-how, who, what, when, where and why is this happening? is it because they figure that if they hold onto eveybodies money for 21 days (i cant even imagine how much money that would be) that they will make hundreds of thousands of extra $ from peoples interest?

- why would they do that to the sellers?

i guess thats all i need to know at this moment because if this is true... im outta here and if this is true and you stick around for that b.s., youre  just a fool getting punked by a multi billion dollar comp[any for your hard earned money  which to them is nothing more then a meal at a 5 star reastuarant.

i sell things on ebay because im a single father of two that needs to make sure my kids  have the basics... and if they are lucky, i wont have to tell them they cant play soccer this year . not so i can take them on a 2 week vacation to walt disney world or so i can throw under my bed for their college one day.

did everyone get this or is it just me...???  sorry for trippin out but they already take...what 10% for ebay and whatevers it already is for paypal....

please advise...
