Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

This evening just found out this NEW thing from ebay and paypal many people talking is happening to us. Our company sold over 600 items in the last quarter, gear up for the Christmas final week and BOOM! One fishy buyer (open an account in 2008 and FIRST TIME buy our product in October 2011) left a negative feedback just a day after listing ended, even 3 days before receiving the item, claiming "item not as described". Despite such solid evidence of feedback rigging Ebay still sided with the bogus buyer. I thought I will just let it go and BOOM I see the orders today in paypal all have 21 days hold.
I told ebay whoever in ebay coming up with such rule have no accounting or business sense. In this economy, we don't even give Walmart and Best Buy NET 7 days terms. All of a sudden we are slapped with a NET 21 days, not to mention we don't deserve it.
It is not I don't want to continue to sell in ebay, but our last week Christmas sales are now officially **bleep**ed. We cancel all buyer orders, and let our warehouse staff take a week off. I don't even need to discuss with accounting as they won't even consider company like Best Buy worth more than NET7, so NET21 for small timer ebay will not fly. We will just stop selling for 12 months until their stupid feedback score thing is gone.

I am going through the same thing. I called and they told me I have to establish myself as a seller first. So, I am sending all of MY items to people and not allowed to have my money for it until 3 days after the buyer receives it and doesn't complain about it. I have one person who bought something on December 13th and it is still sitting at the post office because she just didn't pick it up yet. So I have to wait until she decides to pick it up, wait another 3 days to make sure she is happy with it, then I can receive my money for it. Doesn't make any sense at all. It's not like it used to be a few years ago when I sold on ebayl.

Hi...I am in the same boat. it's been 11 days since the item I had sold and my funds are supposed to be available today and they are also still in pending status. Even a bank can clear a check almost instantly and at most in 3 days. So are sellers supposed to hold onto the merchandise until the money is deposited? I'm sure paypal would go out of business because no one would be happy, sellers or buyers. I think it's a scam on their part to hold our money, collect interest on it, and hope that we forget that we had money to collect so they can keep it. I am reporting them to the BBB for abuse of sellers money that is owed to them. I've bought and sold on ebay for 15 years (now I have my own account after getting divorced) and have used paypal for most of them. I have NEVER had to wait like this to get my money before. I'm a verified buyer/seller/bank accounts, etc as well. I'm not sure what the heck they are trying to do by **bleep**ing the sellers that obviously are selling the items for money and then holding it from us. Tell everyone that you know about this experience and maybe the bad service we receive will spread to enough people that it will impact the money they can make on us. Oh, did you also notice that paypal was sure to take out their fees from us selling before the funds are supposedly available? What's up with this? Obviously the money is available from the get go since they can take their share. I am SOOOOO irate!

ON the paypal website, there is a link for "contact us".Click on it and select "email" and you will be able to send an email with your concerns. I did and received a response already. I was told that if I provided them the tracking number or the buyers info taht left the feedback for the item that I sold, they would be able to apply my funds within 3 days. We'll se if this happens.
