HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

  Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

We should all stop using their services after we get all outstanding money. You recall a couple months ago when NetFlix raised their fees? They lost big when customers left them and stopped using their services. I know I'm not using them afer this week.

I run a business, not just eBay! I need to be able to get to MY money!!! This is crap! As far as I know, there has been no disputes, shipping has been quick, etc.... So... I need to know why this is happening! If I can't get to MY $$ how the he** cn I refund, etc if I need to!????? I say phooey on PayPal!!

In my situation, I dont understand how paypal can tell me that they are holding payments until i receive so meny positive feedbacks, which i already exceed the amount they told me that i needed then have my account evaluated & then they will put my account back to normal where i receive payments right away again!!!... but i have already been evaluated & they continue to keep holding the payments before my next evaluation in ANOTHER 35 days. The really bad part is that this is my income at the moment, i rely on the payment to ship items to buyers, its not fair that  this payment hold situation is even allowed...Seller rates will go down since there isnt money available to ship..Now what, negative feedback will come into play!! Thats is wronge, I have now already hit there 21 day hold & funds are still not available. Then whenever it becomes available i have to still wait another 3 days for it to transfer into my bank account because i dont approve for the paypal credit/debit card....PAYPAL REALLY MAKES THINGS ALOT HARDER THEN IT HAS TO BE. Wont be here after funds get released, this really gives good, honest people a bad name.

Last week I did a test to see if it was paypal really doing this or was it ebay. Guess what it was ebay. I was selling on my ebay account I had 2074 positive feedbacks @ 100% rating. But buyers found out how they can hurt the seller who doesnt give them what they want for nothing. The DSR! You can be the best seller in the world. Perfect feedback & perfect rating BUT if the buyer leaves you bad opion on the DSR your **bleep**ed. They have been accually doing this for over a year it has just taken a while for the buyers sticking it to the sellers to start really taking effect. My husband has an ebay account that he uses for buying. We both have the same paypal. I had 54 auctions running when they hit me with the 21 day hold. Sorry but the red flipped out! I canciled every auction I had running & refunded every buyer there money. Now for the test. I list 1 of the items in my husbands ebay account. It sold & it was an east transaction. No 21 day hold. So People it is not paypal. It is ebay. If you want to sell auction style you are going to have to leave ebay. I did & I am now listing on ebid.net You can still use paypal. Yes ebay does own paypal too but if you want to sell join Goolgle merchant its just like paypal. You can use both until it catches on.

PayPal is holding $1000.00 of my money which is preventing me from being able to ship out items promptly and they use that as a excuse to continue holding my money. I created a petition to get this stopped immediately. Its the holidays and I'm unable to go shopping for my friends and family because of this. They also informed me today that they plan to hold on to it for another 35 days.

Pay Pal is just like Bank of America, they will lose their customers the same way! They are no "Pals" collecting millions of dollars in interest on all accounts world wide! I have notified the FTC to conduct a formal investigation on such questionable business practices. Paypal and ebay's greed will bring themselves down!

Everyone needs to contact customer service everyday to try to get the funds released. How on earth is one to pay for shipping? I still get shipping deducted from my available balance, and I have international sales. I have to wait to ship one of the items because the money won't be released for 21 days. The cost of shipping is over 50.00

I have been with eBay & PayPal for almost 10 years now & I CAN NOT keep my business going with them holding the money. The products I sell come from different suppliers & when a customer purchases an item I need to use that money to pay my drop shipper so they will send the product. I recently opened an eBay store because sales has picked up. But now with PayPal holding the money I am going to have to close the store. I have a 100% rating, there are no controversies, & as soon as my drop shipper get me the tracking # I post it to the customer, and I leave feedback as soon as I see an item has sold. They say now they need a tracking # & the item has to be delivered, then after 3 days they will release the money. That makes it really hard to get the tracking # if I can't pay them to ship the item in the first place.

If anyone has any good ideas feel free to let me know. I am just trying to get my business going so I need the money to keep things moving.

Sorry to say, but there doesn't seem to be a way around PayPal's despotic hold policy.   What I would do is keep extra money in my Paypal account to cover the cost of doing business.    Also, check out other selling sites in hopes of increasing your business. (eCreater, Webstore, etc.)  Good luck.

Only way is to have some cash spare, as you say this is your business rite? So really this is a must
