HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I have over $70.00 from an eBay payment to me stuck in limbo because it is "pending". I've done the required stuff to get it released yet it's still stuck there.
How do I get my mutha farking money?

I've seen a few post on this subject but what I want to know is what's the longest it's taken to actually get paid and what had to be done?? I've been going on 4 (count em) 4 days with a payment pending. My item was delivered... But haven't heard from my buyer or paypal... I've been very patient but this is getting nuts!!! Anybody heard of anything being done about this 'pending' policy???

It is painfully obvious that PayPal and eBay have not thought this new policy all the way through. First of all, the whole world is now aware of the fact that eBay purchased PayPal and are essentially one company. That simply translates into eBay making money for their posting and commission fees, and then again through PayPal with their fees. Great strategy! I can live with that...it's Americana commerce at its best, and I love it!
However, with this New Hold / Pending Funds Policy you have crossed a line that is not only ignorant, but also a flagrant insult to your "customers" who have chosen to use you as a viable option for processing payments for goods that are sold.
The obvious thing here is the fact the we the "Seller" are left in the lurch and at the mercy of the "Buyer". We are forced to come out of pocket with shipping and handling while the funds are being "held". Sometimes Buyers never post feedback at all. Having to wait 21 days for payment is financially impossible for those of us Sellers who have multiple transactions each week. I am currently holding off posting any auctions through eBay until this issue is resolved with a new, common sense policy.
The not so obvious here is just how financially beneficial this new "Hold" policy is to eBay/PayPal. The funds that you put into this Hold category are accumulating interest on a daily basis. eBay and PayPal process literally millions of dollars every week. You are not only making money on both ends of the transaction with eBay and PayPal fees, but you are making a killing on the interest by holding the Sellers funds until you arbitrarily decide to release them. Once again, I'm all for good ole Americana Commerce, but this has gone too far. A Congressional hearing to investigate this practice just might be in order here.
In the short term, I suggest all Sellers simply stop using eBay as their auction site and choose one of the faster growing auction sites. In addition, stop using PayPal altogether and use a cashiers check, bank draft, or simple money order.
The machine will pay attention when it is no longer greased and comes to a screaching halt. Now that's Americana too!

Call your Senaters Congressman and lets get the Congress involved. It will see that this is an ugly, immoral way of doing business and perhaps require Ebay and Paypal (same company) to reimburse millions of dollars generated by the interest that they claim while sitting in their respective bank...Oh ya...I forgot...they own the bank too!! Call your Legal people and get them involved because this is a "crock of crap" with no merit whatsoever!

Good news for those us who believe in filing a class action to get eBay/PayPal's attention is a good idea and are supportive of this action.

I having problems logging onto the site. Sometimes it lets me on and other times it tells me I do not
have authentication to visit the site. Well I don't give up, just like pursuing the paypal/ebay issue. I just
keep trying till I get through. Now is it something the company is doing to slow the efforts of us or what.
Anyways I just thought I would post it.

Yes, it looks like PayPal's doing that to quite a few people. Today on the computers at work It kept saying "access denied". But there's always a way around anything. Just ask the hackers Speaking of which, It's a shame that they can try and deny us access to the discusson board or delete some of our post but they can't try and go after the some of the real dangerous ones like the hackers who have managed to worm their way into our businesses and mess us up! And it's all due to PayPal&eBay with their crap! Everyone now knows that PayPal&eBay definitely have enough money to do it!
If they weren't so money grubbing and power hungry and allowed everone to be happy by doing or trying to do what we were doing, and that was making or trying to make some money online without all this hold **bleep**, we wouldn't have been taking about suing these people in the first place!!!!
They brought this on themselves! It's just a kid in school telling a teacher or a principal: "YOU GOT ME SUSPENDED!!" No, they got themselves suspended! We just helped. And as for one of my sports comparisons, it's time for eBay&PayPal to come out of the starting lineup and have a seat at the end of the bench!! Because they've definitely been playing lousy these past couple of years!!

why have I had to wait the 21 days, when the persons that bought my items have received the items and have answered my emails that they were satified but they have not left a feedback, I have sent and ask them to, This is not fair to me that they have their items and I still have not got the money, one of them did send a positive feedback but the money never released but the other has not. something needs to changed so we can get our money we sold the items for the money not to wait for 21 days,, thanks Marilyn
