HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

The short answer is that it frustrates sellers who just want to scam people.
So the scammers stay away and that makes ebay safer for everybody.

I had planned on selling more items on Ebay but now that I am having this problem I am going to go somewhere else, like the local classifieds, Craigs list or anything but here. The bad thing is that PayPal is not Ebay and this is gong to hurt their business just as bad. I have a 100% score, proved that the package arrived and that the buyer is extremely satisfied with the item that I sold.

Teikyo is not a she, but thanks for playing.
I get my payments in the form of instant payments for items I list on ebay, however, if ebay were to hold the funds, I wouldn't ship anything unless I knew 100% for sure that there was ZERO chance pay play could refuse to pay me at all for the item. I and the other sellers are not in the business of shipping free merchandise and allowing pay pal to donate our money to their coffers. If that's pay pal's policy then **bleep** them.

E Bay and Pay Pal needs to understand this "WE WILL HOLD YOUR MONEY FOR 20/30 days". To solve a problem we have. A Multi million company just needs to keep our profit hi. Don't worry we'll just **bleep** up our listers. Hope someone can start a new E BAY that will not have a bunch of GEEKS changing a good thing to a waste of time. I spent three hours trying to contact a PERSON to solve a problem. Now all I can do is click a computer that can't do a thing as far as a question other than what is programed in the hard drive. Really sad a great CO is,ruining them selves.Get rid of the GEEKs and replace wih people

Being a novice ebay seller I was surprised to recieve a message that the buyer of an item paid me but the money will not be released pending their approval. How does that protect me?
Is it a normal ebay custom when you say you accept paypal that the buyer can put the payment as "pending?'

PayPal will release the payment after 21 days, or... 24 hours after the buyer leaves positive feedback or 3 days after PayPal can confirm delivery of the item.
The policy is called the eBay Item Hold policy... it was announced in January, 2008 and implemented in April, 2008. Go here...

to read more about the policy.
When listing an item, you are warned that your payment may be held. The following text appears on the eBay Sell Your Item form...
PayPal may delay the settlement of funds to ensure smooth transactions.

OK, so after trying for over an hour of trying to talk to the morons in the philipeans that paypal(cheap, crooked) hired to take customer support calls I still have no answer to my question.
Why does gaypal hold money for sold items? It makes absolutely NO SENSE to me that when I sell and item paypal puts a 21 day hold on the money sent for SHIPPING of the item. How am I supposed to ship if I can't get the funds meant for shipping?
Does this make any sense to anyone other than the retards at gaypal???
