HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I'm with you and so are hundreds more from what I've been reading! I have sent back all the money buyers sent me from my auctions that Paypal was HOLDING!  I also replied to the invoice Ebay sent me saying that my credit card had denied their bill for auctions, by telling them that it was denied because I put a 21 day hold on all payment to Ebay!!!! Boy that felt good!! Let's see how they like a does of their own medicine. I'm done with both of them and I stand to lose a dispute I have filed for $500 against a disreputable seller on Ebay Motors but I don't care, I'll take the creep to a real court! Good luck.....I hope we all can make a difference!

Don't believe what they told you about releasing the funds for shipping and whatever you do.....DON'T TAKE THEM UP ON THEIR OFFER TO SHIP NOW AND PAY LATER!! Another person fell for that and they took the money out of her personal checking account overdrawing and costing her $136 in charges. They are not telling anyone the truth.......IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU SHIP OR WHAT ELSE YOU DO.......YOU WON'T SEE YOUR MONEY FOR 21 ++++ DAYS!!

They actually did release me the shipping money, but nothing more. They are holding the rest of the payment for 21 days.

I feel like we got caught up in a web....10 years and 100% approval.. this is so wrong.

They found a way to make money on the 21 days.  The can't answer exactly why they are holding it.  I doesn't matter your score, it really doesn't matter that your shipment reach the customer and the customer gave you five star feedback.  They won't release it.  They're making money on your hard earned money.  People are saying report it to the attorney general's office.  Whatever...somethings up.  Seems like a deep, dark undertow going on here, perhaps bigger than eBay/PayPal...

I did call them after the package was delivered and after I received feedback and they were still holding my money so I called them and laid into them and I had my money put back on my account right then and there. But I had to follow through otherwise they would of continued to hold my money. What there doing is illegal keep reporting them to your attorney generals office

That has To be illegal this is not a communist country this is the united states of America we are a free country and no one has the right to tell us how much we have to sell. And no one has the right to penalize us if we don't use there website as often as they want. They must be hurting for business. So guess what I can do what I want and as soon as my money clears for the one item I have up there I' will never do business with them again. And that is the only way we are going to hurt them by not giving them our business. And I better get my money because if I don't there will be a law suit. There wrong totally wrong with what there doing file a claim with your attorney generals office I did.

Once my auction is done, that's it for me too...I told the guy I spoke with that he ought to tell his BOSSES to read the forums...but maybe we're too SMALL CLAMS for them to care...they want the SUPER SELLERS. They don't pay too much to history...what happens to Goliath.

Probably.  Even though I always felt that paypal's fees were a bit excessive I put up with it.  But what they have essentaily told me with this new policy is go sell on amazon.com.  I might be a small claim but if you add up the fees they have collected from me through selling/buying it a nice sum.  But what will happen here is that people like me, who are jerked around by paypal customer service, not given a logical reason why this policy is in place, simply will refuse to use Ebay, Paypal, BillMeLater (and im sure there are more who don't post on this forum).   The fees are one thing but to hold my money to make money on it I don't think so.

To the earlier poster, yes they can change there terms and conditions, and it is legal.  But on the otherhand, and i have told paypal this on the phone, on twitter, and now here, WHEN YOU APOLIGIZE TO ME and change the policy I will consider using Ebay/Paypal again.  I am strong willed and I will not back down.  I hope that everyone on here is serious about closing your accounts/not using ebay.  When Corporate Profits start to fall the shareholders will remove the clowns that put these polices in place.....but at that point it maybe to late......maybe Ebay/Paypal is the next .com to become a thing of the past. I mean they were already pricing themselves out of the realm of reality with the fees they charge and this put the icing on the cake.

so please get everyone you konw to come here day and night and keep posting to tell Paypal, NO THANK YOU, BYE BYE. Mabye then they will get it.

Oh, and the last thing I will say is I am excited that I will no longer have to call some other part of the world to get told, Umm, I can't handle that and then be transfered back to the US.  SUCH A WASTE OF MY TIME.
