HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I acutally am tired of this already, wish that I could use another service like Serve or similar. So far, the only way I've had my payments taken off hold is when the buyer has given me positive feedback, BEFORE they received the item. That's unfair to them as well.
As far as shipping costs being deducted from the payment on hold, it's pure BS. I paid for shipping today and it came out of my back up from my bank account and not the hold balance. If they don't reverese this soon or at minimum release the shipping balance then i am leaving PayPal... 5 years of good service all down the crapper because of a BS policy like this.

You know what?
If half the people that say they are going to leave EBAY/PayPal actually left.. Then Ebay would have something to think about, but people really don't leave.
I for one will continue to Buy-but won't be selling anymore.
And thanks to the prior posts for letting me know to contact my attorney general-I didn't know who to contact about a business keeping my PAYCHECK!!!! ILLEGAL!!! Also it is a violation of the LABOR LAWS...
Ebay/PayPal is blackmailing us to sell more or they won't give us our money-Isn't that illegal??

I can tell you want to unload a whole bunch of expletives. Cool down and do not have stroke. It is simple as this...we cannot use both eBay and PayPal together to sell an item. Time to x out PayPal. It is as simple as that, and go for google buy or some others. Otherwise your business will fail.
I hate them both. I'm weighing the PayPal alternatives now. They are out there. But dig...I believe it won't be long before 'eBay' says we must you 'PayPal.'
That day will mark the end of eBay, and PayPal's power we be reduced, if not destroyed too. That's what greed does. It destroys.

Here's what hit me..
There must be a lot of **bleep** up management types at Ebay/PayPal...
You have to believe for a change of this magnitude, it went thru a variety of channels...
It's just hard to believe NOT three or four people in management didn't tell their boss, this 21 days thing is goofy!!
Common sense says, if the buyer pays...either with money in THEIR PayPal account or is withdrawn thru their bank account, the item is paid for.. case closed.. WE sellers should see the money immediately!!!
Looks like our only hope is to find one Attorney General around the country who has a husband or wife who sells on Ebay and he/she says, "honey get their **bleep**":)
