The last few days have been some of the busiest shopping days of the year! Share with us a great deal you found, whether you shopped online or in-store, or an interesting experience you had.

Hi Adrian,

PayPal shipping was removed in early November with not as much as an announcement. PayPal CS rep said that PayPal shipping was being retired, and that all shipping was now going to have to go through eBay.

I had several issues with that:

• There was no announcement, despite eBay/PayPal CEO's previous promise that major changes would be announced in advance and that no changes would be made during the holidays.
• eBay shipping messaging has a 600 character limit, this despite the fact that eBay allows buyers to rate sellers on communication. It is disconcerting that eBay allows buyers to rate sellers on communication then forces a limit on seller to buyer communication with the shipping notification.
• I sell on sites other than eBay, and the idea of processing shipping labels on eBay for non eBay transactions is a non starter.
• eBay is glitch prone and buggy. If shipping is moved to eBay only, this creates a problem as I promise same day shipping when items are purchased and payment is completed by a certain time. The possibility that I would need to process a shipping label for a same day transaction and the chance that eBay shipping would be down is unacceptable. Having access to both eBay and PayPal shipping is vital.
• eBay customer service is terrible, but PayPal excels, the thought of having an issue processing a label through eBay and dealing with eBay's script reading CS agents is a non starter.

So the questions are:

1. Is PayPal shipping back to stay or is there going to be another change to eBay after the holidays?
2. If shipping is going to be pushed to eBay and PayPal shipping discontinued, does the company appreciate the fact that if I have to open an account with a third party shipping service for non eBay transactions, it only makes sense that I would take my eBay transactions and push them through that third party service in order to maximize the value of the additional fee?

I saw your earlier post on the same topic, and moved it into the thread where we're collecting the feedback about the shipping platform changes. Your feedback is definitely helpful and constructive, and we appreciate the effort you put into organizing it for us!

I can't speak to changes that may be made in the future. I do know that we're always looking at ways to improve all experiences for all users. There were quite a few changes with the shift in platform that were designed to address technical issues that many customers were experiencing. Your feedback and the feedback of the others whose posts are now in that thread will be useful in that aim. Thank you!

Hi everyone!

For years, I could never understand what would motivate someone to get up before dawn and camp out at a store in the hopes of getting a few deals. Then this year I got bitten by the bug!

I went and stood in line at Best Buy in the freezing cold after Thanksgiving dinner and waited for a few hours. I was hoping to get the sweet deal they had on the 42" TV for $200, and the $40 Blu ray player. Well, the folks who stood in line a few more hours than I did apparently had the same idea, and they snapped up the vouchers before the employees got to my place in line.

It was still kind of fun to get caught up in the madness for a while, though!

Olivia and Frank, I will never understand the fun in standing outside a store at 4 AM, freezing, waiting and pushing to get a great deal. 

Especially when I can just go shopping online with my phone (and my PayPal Mobile app!), and find some great deals there - all while sleeping in, being warm, and not having to navigate giant crowds.  Usually while I'm watching a cheaply made movie and munching on popcorn.

I first went to Wal-Mart and then "wanted" to go into Target but the line was wrapped around the building, I said no way and left as I am not that crazy!

Sorry about not getting the TV and the Blu Ray player . But you are right, it is still kindof fun to "get caught up in the madness for a while, though!"

Hello Everyone,

I never understood why people would want to leave to go shopping on Thanksgiving or get up at the crack of dawn to stand outside to get a few good deals. Last year I decided to venture out to check out what good deals I could take advantage of. Let me tell you, last year I went to Wal-Mart and by the end of the night I could not even move and I said I would never do it again. Well, once again this year I ventured out and met a nice lady while waiting to get a good deal on a 1,600 piece Lego set for my son, she kept me company and it was a good time. I will say it was well worth it, I did get some great deals and best of all I am almost done shopping.
