Hi, saw this question several times but no solution from paypal. Can I link my paypal account to a specialised foreign currency account if I am registered as an Australian Account? It is an account in Australia but in foreign currency (usd).

Don’t bother doing that. There will be double conversion. PayPal always converts foreign currencies to your local currency on the withdrawal and then your USD local bank will convert AUD back to USD on arrival.
You may only withdraw in Australian dollars, or US dollars (only when you withdraw the US dollars into your US bank account linked to your PayPal account). US bank account with a “routing number”. And it costs 3% to withdraw USD to US bank from non-US PayPal accounts.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Wow, looks like a good chunk of PayPal's business transactions are going to get eaten by (Transfer)Wise or similar.
