I have claimed my money from Freelancer.com but nothing shows in my balance?

I got an email this morning that my funds from freelancer.com was finally released to my Paypal and that I had to log in to claim it. I logged in, followed all the steps and got a message that said "congratulations, $xx is now yours. It then gave me the option to view my balance or withdraw the money to my card, but when I tried to withdraw it it says my balance is $0. Is there a waiting period? This is a big problem for me as I urgently need the money and it was a big balance that I earned from completing freelancing work.

What currency are the funds in?

Is it a currency you can withdraw to your FNB bank account?

@kernowlass it is in $US, and I've already set up everything to be able to withdraw to my FNB account. But the problem is not withdrawing to my bank account, it's that after I claimed the funds I received on Paypal, it doesn't reflect on my Paypal account at all. Nothing in my transaction history. And Paypal support claims that I need to contact the sender and that I've only opened my account yesterday, which is not true. And the fault is not on Freelancer.com's side.

Have you added USD as a receiving currency in your paypal wallet?

Have you confirmed your email address?

Have you verified your paypal account by adding and confirming a visa credit card?

Hello @caredewet, thank you for posting.

All PayPal accounts are initially ‘Unverified’ and have limits on sending, receiving and withdrawing money. To remove these limits and to comply with EU law, we will ask you to verify more information about yourself by completing some or all of the steps below.

To verify your information:

1. Add and confirm your bank.
2. Link and confirm a credit or debit card.
3. Provide business information (Business accounts only).

By setting up bank funding your PayPal account will become Verified.

I hope this helps,

- Sean
