Can't link

good day. what happen i can't link my gcash and my google store its say always cancelled transaction. what should i do to relink it on my account. because the always send my OTP pin to long. that's why i cant complete my transaction process.

Hello -

For 3 weeks I've been trying to link my GCash account to Paypal for "preapproved payments", which will allow me to 'cash-in' money from my PayPal act to GCash act in the Philippines where I now live.

Every time I go thru process to link, I get an approval email from Paypal, then immediately after, another email that says my G-Xchange preapproved payment is cancelled. This happened at least 10 times, and Gcash support can't seem to figure it out. (see photo below as reference email)

I think it's a security thing with Paypal, but there's no way of knowing as there's no support I can receive from Paypal. This is a desperate cry for help!

Look forward to some guidance or resolution. Maybe it's not possible after all 😕

PS this is photo of email says it's approved, then another one comes (1 min later) that says it's cancelled....

Your problem is probably because you are still using a U.S registered paypal account?

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

You can however in some countries add a U.S bank account (not card) to your paypal account. This is because paypal is a U.S company.
If you have that option then it should show in your paypal wallet.

Hello Kernolass - 

Firstly, thanks for the time to respond and finally provide a logical answer to why I am having this repeated in issue in the first place. It hadn't made sense until now that GCASH would function solely with a Philippines PayPal act. 

The truth is, I reside here in the Philippines but still have my permanent residence in the US where I often use my US-based PayPal act. I do have my bank linked to the one, and don't plan to use a bank here in the Philippines. Only GCash is needed here.

I'm would like that PayPal would understand this and provide a mechanism to link my US acct to Philippines Gchash.

Its risky using another countries paypal account in a country specific country, you may be able to use it but I have seen lots of folks doing to being permanently limited once you start using it internationally, so be careful.

You are allowed x2 paypal accounts so you could have one in each country BUT unfortunately x1 has to be personal and the other x1 has to be a business account.

Thanks for providing this option. I assume I'll need a whole new account and login with PayPal Business. Going to try that route and hope for the best.

What about me how many hours and days i tried to linked my paypal account to my gcash account but only cancelled try to g G xchange they said

Just circling back on this, I did finally get GCash to confirm that a US Paypal account cannot be linked to GCash act in the Philippines. GCash support was very slow to respond after repeated attempts, but glad to confirm what this advisor here had shared to quit banging my head.... 

I have tried to set up a new business Paypal act, but didn't put in a philippines address. It's a work in progress to see if that solution works, but honestly, too much of a hassle...  Easier to just take out cash from machine and cash-in at a grocery store.
