How to Find Out in Advance if Seller Protection is Eligible Before Sending the Invoice to Customer?

Dear PayPal,

We always use PayPal to issue invoice to customer.

  1. The Eligiblility for seller protection is unknown until customer makes a payment which is too late. How do we find out in advance before we send out the invoice to customer?
  2. Do we have an option during drafting of invoice to "force" customer to make payment via PayPal instead of credit card so that "Seller Protection" is always eligible?

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

K.L.

Hello KL2015,

Welcome to PayPal HeadStart Community!

Let me address both your question;

  1. To find out the eligibility of seller protection make sure to read the guidelines available in our user agreement.
  2. As part of the checkout with PayPal, your customers could either pay directly with PayPal or use the PayPal guest account option in order to pay with PayPal. To check this, log in to PayPal, go to your profile and settings, and select "My selling tools." Then choose "Update" next to your "Website preferences" and make sure the "PayPal Account Optional" feature is turned off. This will ensure that you receive payment from PayPal account holder thus completing one of the requirements for seller protection.

Best wishes to your business and hope this helps you.
