Why is an automatic payment coming from bank account when it is set up to PayPal credit?

I have automatic payments for a service to come from my PayPal credit account, this normally happens when I use this service, however there has been an attempt for the payments to come from a bank account that I haven’t set a direct debit mandate for, so this has failed and the payments instead have came from a linked card on another account. I previously had a mandate for this bank account but deleted it almost a year ago. It’s unclear to me why the payment isn’t coming off of my PayPal credit as it is set to and frustrating that the bank account that PayPal is trying to take the money from isn’t set up for a direct debit.

You can link or unlink a credit card, debit card, a prepaid card (where available) a bank account or PayPal Credit (where available) to your PayPal account as a funding source.

We may limit the availability of your funding sources to manage our risk.

We may charge the funding source again if the previous attempt failed. If you cancel any continuous permission from your funding source, you will reimburse us for the value of any electronic money we've already issued for which a charge from that funding source remains outstanding.

I appreciate the response, this doesn’t really address the issue though. The Automatic Payment in question is set to come from my PayPal credit, and f which there is plenty credit available, and it hasn’t. Instead PayPal has attempted to take it from a bank account that doesn’t have an active mandate nor is my preferred payment in my wallet.
