I received money in my Paypal account from a friend and it automatically tried to transfer the money to my debit card. It failed but it's not something I want to do. I prefer to have the funds in foreign currency. Is the a way to stop Paypal from attempting the transfer automatically?

So basically there's no way for me to maintain a Paypal Wallet balance in GBP? Whenever someone abroad sends me money it will automatically transfer into my one of my debit cards? I wanted somewhere I could receive and save GBP but if it automatically transfers into my home country's debit cards then it defeats the purpose for me.
