Repeated "Please try again later" errors when trying to transfer money

Long time user. Some time after 24 Sept, whenever I try to transfer money, I get this message "Things don't appear to be working right now Sorry, something’s not right. Please try again later." I am doing a standard transfer as I usually do.

What can I do to resolve this problem? Many thanks for your advice and suggestions.

Hello @ckelly1,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum!

I am sorry to know that you're unable to withdraw funds. Sometimes our security program considers a variety of factors at each transaction/activity to keep you safe. Any activity can often be blocked or declined if we detect any unusual or suspicious activity or not safe for your account in the future. In this case, try to transfer funds later. If the issue still persist, kindly reach out to our customer support team via the contact options available on our website to know the reason for the withdrawal issue so that our advisors can assist you accordingly.

I hope this helps,

Ayesha

I tried to transfer funds for over a week with no results. I then called customer service. The service representative was able to temporarily override the block so I could transfer funds , but the service rep could not tell me why the block had been put in place nor could they be confident the block had actually been removed. I have tried to transfer funds since that call and it's pretty clear the block is still in place. Paypal has been utterly silent about the reasons for this issue and about ways to resolve it, so I gather another call to customer service is required. I'll have to see if there's a way to get to someone who has the authorization to actually solve the problem. --DeeAnna

Hi, ckelly1,

I'm sorry that you continue to have issues withdrawing your money.

To provide one of the safest online payment methods PayPal reviews every withdrawal before it is approved. Occasionally, we may hold a withdrawal if there may be a higher-than-normal level of risk associated with the transaction.

I would advise you to always log in from your home computer, never use a VPN, and make sure you're withdrawing to a card or bank that is registered in your country.

"...I would advise you to always log in from your home computer, never use a VPN, and make sure you're withdrawing to a card or bank that is registered in your country. ..."

Your advice is certainly valid, but it's not necessary in my case. I used the exact same protocol as I always do. Same computer, same bank, etc., etc., etc.

As of yesterday, the problem has apparently been resolved, but I still have no idea how or why the problem occurred or why it is no longer an issue. Thank you for your time.
