Refund completed on a canceled card

Month ago I ordered product using paypal and linked mastercard.
Week ago linked mastercard expired and I've got a new one.
Yesterday I received a refund and it was transfered to the card that was deactivated. And it show that refund is completed.
I called the bank and they replied that the transaction to the blocked card was canceled and sent back to PayPal.
I am not in the USA, so my PayPal account does not have a balance where the money could be returned.
What will happen to this money?
New card was linked to the account. How can I get a refund on the new card?

If the card ACCOUNT that both cards belong or belonged to is still open then it should go through fine.
However if its a completely new card / account then it may decline so ask your old card issuer if they can help you recover your refund.

Both cards are linked to the same account. But the card numbers are different. If PayPal sends money to the old card number, such a transaction will be automatically rejected.

Well. I'll just wait for a while. But at the moment there was an attempt to make a transaction to the old card that I forgot to remove from PayPal. And the transaction was declined. Now the old card is removed from my PayPal. Is it possible that the next transaction will be addressed to the new card that I linked?
